A Note...

Grace may be a wee bit late in her New
Year's wish but it IS still
January right? I found this note when I got up today.
I assume she left it last night just prior to bed...I, being the perfect
mother, was engrossed in the Golden Globes,
assessing the dresses you know. Like *I* would
know anything about style. Hmpf. I KNOW that they
will be soundly trashed by those
magical, mystical mavens of fashion (If only
in their OWN minds), Joan and Missy, but who is
more glorious than Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep?
Classy and funny and possessing more talent in their
pinkie fingertips than most of the starlets in Hollywood
would find (with a magnifying glass and a
pair of tweezers) in their entire mind, body and soul.
Okay, back to this new year thing...on her blog today,
dear Cherry talked about the idea
of assigning a word to the new year. A word
that would define how you hope to spend
2007, or one that would address how
you hope to LIVE this year.
I have been trying to think of what word I could
possibly choose...I think I have settled on one.
~Humor~.
With humor, one can tackle almost any
obstacle. Overcome almost any adversity....really!
I have been trying to look at each situation that
upsets me or stresses me with a sense of humor.
We could all use a little bit more silliness, more
chuckles and guffaws. Laughter IS the best medicine it is said...
It helps...MOST of the time. Let's just say
I will try my darndest.
Hugs,
Suzie Q

I just discovered your blog and I enjoyed very much browsing through it very much. You have a wonderful family. I'm French but my blog is both in french and English. I like cross stitch but many other things too. I wish you a very good evening.

Love the note from Grace! I just discovered a note that I'm going to have to post also. It made my day! (perhaps tomorrow on my blog). Your Grace just sounds like a sweetie!
I agree with you--Helen M and Meryl S have so much more style than any of the younger gals!
I also have been thinking of my word, but haven't quite settled on it. Love your choice!!!

How precious! Your daughter sounds like a gem! I too watched the GG's yesterday night, and I can't wait for the Oscars in March!

i love the idea of having a word be the keynote for a year! and nothing better for this new year in our country today than humor!

p.s....i didn't like Meryl's dress as much, but i did like Helen's, and i did like Beyonce's dress and America Ferrerr's (sp? from Ugly Betty)dress!

HERE HERE on everything in this post! Laughter is essential! once I came to your blog I knew I'd have to keep coming back for precisely that reason, your sense of humor.
Grace sounds like quite a fabulous child.

I LOVE to critique the fashions and so agree about Meryl and Helen (two of my faves).Although I used to try and see all the nominated films..admittedly a HUGE part of awards season is the "what were they thinking?" or "isn't she fabulous?" or "heart be still (over George Clooney) moments.lol!
Cheers!

Sue, love the note from Grace! How sweet! I missed the Golden Globes on Sunday. (darn!) I usually watch it; it's one of my favorite award shows. But I completely forgot all about it.
