For The George Family

I am just feeling so heartbroken for our friend, Jolene.
Most of you that read this little self indulgence
of mine also know Jolene. She is a bit of a
legend around the blog world! Superwoman
par Excellence and then some.
I feel so helpless and wish there was
something I could do for her...so, may
I ask all of you to do something for her?
Her handsome son Chad left today for training and will be
off to Afghanistan shortly. I am asking that everyone who
reads this to keep a good thought for all the George Family,
say a prayer for Chad's safe return and to keep Jolene in your hearts. As a fellow Mom, I can only imagine how she feels tonight.
Jolene? You are loved by so many and we are all here to help ease your pain, offer a shoulder, make you laugh and just care
about you. Never forget that...
Please also keep Chad's beautiful fiance', Sandy,
in your thoughts, prayers and hearts as well...she
is just blessed to be a part of such a warm and
welcoming family as the George family and they
are blessed to have her. God Bless you all.

Sue ... how absolutely sweet of you! We all love and respect Jolene ... and we will most certainly keep Chad, Sandy and her entire family in our thoughts and prayers. Chad is our hero ... and we most certainly pray for his safe return home.

Ditto!

What a lovely post for Jolene.

Once Chad arrives and Jolene has his APO address, I think it would be great if each of her blogger buddies put together a goodie box for him. Everyone could select a month to do it. The post office has these great flat rate boxes. Jolene could tell us things he likes. I did this for the son of a girl I work with and he loved it. And Ben returned safely home 2 days before Christmas after his 15 month tour of duty.

They also have great cards now to send to military personnel. Our office routinely sent them to Ben.

I know when my brother was in Viet Nam he loved mail from home and goodie boxes better than anything.

Hi Suzi, just dropped in to see what you've been up to. I am new to the blogs as you know and especially with the US blog people. I don't know Jolene. But I can understand how awful this is for her. If I can add anything to help pls let me know.

Oh Sue....I'm sitting here crying trying to see through my tears. I posted Chad's address tonight before I ever saw this. You are the sweetest woman and I love you for your thoughtfulness. Thank you so much!
