2 O'Clock Jump....

My Mom and I took a little trip into Indiana to Bearcreek Farms. Great food, Amish made breads and desserts, a sweet gift shop and an afternoon of big band music. I might be a child of the 60s and 70s, and I do so love the music of that era, but, how I adore the big band sound. The Harry James Orchestra continues on in the tradition of mellow arrangements and fine rhythmic playing that first made it famous. Currently under the direction of James' lead trumpet virtuoso, Fred Radke, the orchestra continues to play worldwide in both major venues and special “invitation only”performances. Fred Radke's style of playing is so similar to James’ that listeners often cannot discern the difference. Radke is one of the few remaining original luminaries keeping the panache of that brilliant big band era alive. It was a great afternoon spent with my Mother....really, all in all, just a special day.

I always love catching up on your blog! I felt so sad about poor Haley! I lost a dog to cancer and was with her when they euthanized her ... I KNOW how sad that moment is. I laughed my head off at the Monty Python bits: weasel's noses, otter's nipples, how about some nice ... spam! But I don't like spam! Oh. Then how about some eggs and spam? ... and some day son... all of this will be yours! What?! The curtains?!?!? I'm here for my argument. You are at the wrong room. No I'm not! Yes you are! ... You must answer three questions: what color are your eyes? ... feature this: We get a big wooden badger ... ha! Too many hilarious moments. And such great pictures of the houses and your lovely garden and I loved that you laughed so hard at the gastroenterologist's office! Good on you! And my son has to take his toys into the pool EVERY TIME, so I laughed at the pictures of the little toy dog.
Too fun! You are too fun. I enjoy your rambling and your stories. We "silly" people have to stick together.

Food and music...two of my very favorite things! I love the big band sound, too, even though, despite popular belief, it was actually "big" before my time. Which begs the question...will our children's children one day blog to each other about "man, I love that rap - it was before my time, but yeah, I really get into listening to that P Diddy". Can you imagine? Hmmmmm.....

(P Diddy is a rapper, isn't he??)
