Childlike

I am childlike. I hope in most of the ways that are wonderful and few of those that are undesirable. Especially in one that recently turned 50. I seldom throw myself to the floor, squalling, when things do not go the way I intended. Still, I think a good tantrum might just be a delicious indulgence now and then.
******
I have a childlike enthusiasm about so many things. I often take chances, especially where people are concerned. I do get hurt and disappointed but I am never, ever sorry. I trust with my whole heart and soul. I giggle. I love Disney films. I watch cartoons. I know all the lyrics to The Wiggles' songs. Really, go ahead, dare me to sing them for you!
******
I still believe in Santa Claus, faeries & teddy bears that come to life when the house is dark and still. I believe that most people are good at heart. I believe in happily ever after. I believe that dreams can come true.
******
Too many adults forget the dreams of childhood and abandon them as a foolish pre- occupation. When we lose that childlike enthusiasm, we age, we grow up, we grow old. Like Peter Pan, I hope I never grow up.

Oh how I love this post, Sue. I bet you and I would get along just fine...lol. I love my "childlike" qualities. I love to laugh and I even enjoy making others laugh...sometimes at my own expense. You know, we are only as old as we act. I sometimes think to myself, "Dawn, why don't you act like a 40 year old GROWN woman?" Well, I've come to conclusion that I don't know how 40 year old women act...prior to last November, I'd never been one! So I just go with what I DO know!!! LOL

Thanks again for the smile. Have a great day.

I really believe our youthful enthusiasm has gotten us through the rough times. There are those who think we're a bubble off plumb, but we ignore 'em!!

Happy b'day to your gorgeous mother. She is amazing! Did a good job raising her daughter, too!

I suspect I harbor many of the same childlike qualities. This may be why I love to be around children.

Keep your youthful enthusiasm and trusting nature. It is refreshing in a world filled with adults who think that it is cool and a mark of maturity to be cynical.

I'm with you...I hope I never grow up:-) I just find so much pleasure in the simplest things and am worse than a child when it comes to Christmas! hehe I love cartoons and Disney...I collect faeries...etc. May we never lose that childlike glow inside of us:-) xox

Hi...visiting from the "other" Susie Q! I'm so glad I came over...I loved this. I can so relate!
I am 44 and still a little girl deep down. But because I have young children at home (7 and 5) I can indulge my childlike fancies a lot by playing with them each day! :)
Blessings!

amen my friend.
i just believe that grown-ups have totally screwed up the world. i'd rather be in the "immature" catagory than in the "mature" one.
not only will i live longer, i'll have WAY more fun!

I also love this post. You see- I do not feel 50. In fact my grandkids think I am a little weird since I will dance on a dime. I sing the nursery rhymes and sometimes-(on purpose) love to embarrassed them with my antics *smile*

Heh what are grandparents for?

Take care,
Love to all
Terri

I totally agree with you! My house is full of childish little toys and ornaments, but I love them, they brighten up a dull day!!

I feel the same way. In my bedroom I have a cabbage patch preemie doll, a little care bear, a primitive Raddedy Annie, a fairy sitting on my bookcase, and I'm just touching the surface.
Stay the way you are. You are a blessing!!

Such a sweet post. My mom always used to tell the story about me, back when the first Peter Pan movie came out many years ago, saying I didn't ever want to grow up. I can relate eventhough, now a days, it is my husband who is the cartoon watching, game playing one in our house.

Thanks for the memories.
Sue

You are amazing, and sprinkle seeds of kindness whereever you go, SusieQ. I love that you trust and love with utter abandon. Isn't that what it's all about? Sure, we may get battered in the process, but I'd much rather love and be bruised than never love.

(((hugs))) Excellent post.
