Ikea Peeps

It is hard to believe that Easter has already come and gone yet we know it is true. Our Peeps are beginning to fly the coop. One by one they leave the proverbial nest, following one another out into the big world. *sniff* I-Kea...future shopping here. You know. I-Ke-A...I-See-A...hm. Um. Okay, Silly play on words but oh so true. The Swedish megastore has arrived in our area. It was a rainy, chilly day so what better thing to do than go peruse the retail behemoth's newly opened store along with a few million or so of our friends. Oh yeah. There were people. And shopping carts. And strollers. And even more people. But there were also Swedish meatballs at the cafe and killer throw pillows and cutting boards and baskets and glassware and rugs and frames and, well, let's just say it was fun. Even old frugal Bill, the man I love, was tossing things into the cart. Now that is something you do NOT see everyday! I hope your weekend was a sweet one. Have a good week ahead...
As always, I send love and hugs! Susie Q

Oh, I'm envious :-) IKEA was one of my favorite stores to shop when we were stationed in Germany. Then in WA they started building one twelve minutes from our home, was so excited, until D received orders.....we moved the day before it opened! Sigh...so close!

But in the end, probably a financial blessing in disguise :-)
Hope you had a wonderful weekend Sue! Your fleeting peeps made me chuckle!

Sounds like a fun time Susie.
I hate when those peeps start flying the coop.
Have a wonderful week,

I absolutely adore Ikea. I only get to shop there a couple of times a year, but I swear I could buy out the whole store! LOL
God bless.

Hi Sue,
It's me, trying to catch up...again!! I just did my post on our family Easter get together! I'm a little behind, wouldn't you say? I've been so confused this month with Easter being so early. March has seem so long to me!

We don't have an IKEA store in our area yet. We are just getting a Michael's which I am excited about though!

I love your Mother Bunny picture! :O)

Hugs,
Hope

When "our" Ikea opened there was such gridlock, they had to close the highway down until it cleared. Fun place and I love to buy the bag of frozen meatballs to have on hand. You know, just in case I have a Lingonberry attack or something!!

Man, I wish they'd open up an IKEA in Memphis! I know you can shop online, but I hear the stores are just so much fun!

My husband and I went on Sunday and it was a nightmare crush of people, carts and children. Oh but I bought my goodies, yes I GOT my goodies. I missed IKEA when we first moved here so I was so excited to see them FINALLY open a store in Ohio.

The closest Ikea to me me is several hours away but I have been there twice and it's a fun excursion. It's probably good I don't live close by ...... to anything!!

I love both PEEPS and Ikea so your post made me smile!

Thanks for your sweet comment on the loss of our sweet little cat --we really miss him.

I'm glad that you are enjoying my blog posts about the trip I made recently to lower Manhattan. There is so much wonderful history there to learn about. I've enjoyed researching it.

Hugs, Pat

There is an IKEA about 25 minutes away from me and I still have not gone there. I hear they have some great deals on things.

I lurve IKEA. So good for those often-are-but-don't-need-to-be expensive desks and chairs and lamps. Not to mention fun impulse stuff. I don't heart the parking, but that's a small price to pay. :)

I will admite to being a secret Peep-lover (and general sugaraholic when it comes right down to it!). :)

We don't have Ikea here. I'm going to have to find one to visit.

I really love IKEA! It's such a fun place to browse and great if you have little kids. When my daughter was little we used to go a few times a month because she loved the play area and my husband and I would head to the cafe for some coffee and adult time. Plus the food they sell is delish!

Peeps were on a shortage out here in NJ this Easter! I had to have several people find them for me. And to think, no clearance sales on left overs!! I had chocolate covered peeps the other day and they were SOOO good!

I recently went to Ikea for the very 1st time. Very neat things and cheap!
