Ooh La La

Dear, creative and splendid Kate at The French Nest tagged me for the *Middle Name* meme a few weeks ago. Although I had already played this game, I am not shy about airing a rerun! But with a twist...so I wanted to think about a different way to do this...so, in honor of sweet Kate, a French inspired list! Ooh La La!
E...Eiffel Tower Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, it is a world famous tourist destination with over 5.5 million visitors per year. L...Lyon This often-overlooked French city is filled with Roman attractions (such as the Amphitheatre des Tres Gauls), history, divine cuisine and great shopping. Two rivers (the Rhône and the Saône) wind a path through the city. L...Limoux Home of Blanquette, the Real First Sparkling Wine Most of the world credits the invention of sparkling wine to the Champagne region, and to Dom Perignon. The legend, and possible real story, is far more interesting. According to Limoux natives, it was really invented there when Blanquette was created. When the great dom passed through, he stole the idea, they allege. No matter who is right, Limoux is a lovely small town with a big heart in the Languedoc. It is home to one of Europe's most popular Carnavals. E...Evian-les-Bains Destination with a Spa Flair on the French-Swiss Border A trip report on Evian-les-Bains, a lovely mountain city on the French-Swiss border. It is best known for its spring waters, establishing this as a prime spa resort destination. There is also a casino and a lovely downtown. N...Notre Dame Notre Dame Paris is an impressive feat of gothic architecture. With an awe inspiring exterior, dual towers, and an expansive interior, Notre Dame Paris is a worthy stop on any Paris itinerary.

This is a great idea, a French twist. I enjoyed the French lesson.

If only your name had a "V" in it, you could have written about Versailles too.
