No Child Labor Laws Were Broken! I Swear!

Now. Before you run to your telephone and call Children's Services, let me say that this kid LOVES to shovel. She thinks it is fun. She begs to do this. BEGS! Just try to STOP her! Does a good job of it too so hey... Grace shoveled the snow and Daniel chiseled away the layer of ice that was underneath. Here he is with just one of many pieces he tore away...
If not, heck. I can wrap some up for ya and have it delivered to your doorstep by say, Tuesday?
The sun came out this morning, bright and filled with the promise of...of...more snow. SNOW?
Egad. Yes, the forecast is calling for another Wintry storm Sunday night into Monday.
Oh well, Bill is safely back home so I say, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Did I just say that? *sigh*
Uh huh. Bill got in late afternoon yesterday and had to go straight into work for a few hours. Phooey. But he DID ask if he could take me out to dinner, albeit a late one. Could he? Try and STOP me!
It is Restaurant Week here in the Dayton area. (Now extended until February 6th due to this week's storm.) Lots of participants this year and what a sweet way of trying a new place. Each restaurant has a prix fixe 3-4 course menu featuring a few of their most requested choices and the cost is always $20.09. Last year it was $20.08, next year it will be $20.10. You get the picture. Most of these restaurants are quite pricey and not places we frequent because of that fact! So, all in all it is a wonderful deal and lots of fun. Since Bill was away, we had not planned to be a part of it all this year but last night he said, "Slick roads? Phooey. We need a date night. We are outta here!"
Big brother baby sat for a certain diva (Aw come on! We never go out by ourselves! Gee whiz! And we didn't get home until almost 10:30! Why I almost turned into a pumpkin!) and we headed to Flemings. Whoa. A perfectly seasoned and cooked filet mignon that melted in my mouth. That's all I am sayin'. Melted. In. My. Mouth. And no. We did not ask for a doggie bag. Finished it all up ourselves. Kipper is considering legal action.
We are having dinner with two dear friends tonight, have a Chinese New Year celebration to attend on Saturday and hope to see the new film, "New In Town" on Sunday before the Super Bowl.
Have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm, safe and I wish you many smiles and giggles.
I pray that all of you are safe from the storms and power outages that have swept across the country this week. I send each one of you many hugs and lots of love.

Excellent weekend plans. I hope you get the nice weather you deserve. I don't think kids do enough for their parents, so I certainly won't be calling the law!

The idea for the restaurants is a great one - and i would definately love to try out the more pricey ones here - but we don`t have anything like it - i think it would take off really well here !!

Snuggly warm hugs to you !

Look a little north, and you'll see us waving from Michigan. It's good to read a cheery entry from someone who understands what winter means!

Sorry Bunny Lady, you can keep the ice but send the snow my way. I've been waiting so long. All we got was some flurries and lots of ice.

Oooo! The restaurant week sounds so good. Wish they would do stuff like that here. And how wonderful that Bill suggested going. Isn't it nice to be with someone who still thinks date night is special? You two are great together. Thanks for sharing. xxoo

Could you please mail Grace to my house? We got 16 inches yesterday. Then it turned to sleet and freezing rain and turned it all into cement. That stupid groundhog better say early spring.

Aww, poor Kips! He doesn't know what he missed! I love the idea of restaurant week, I've never heard of anything like it before. I think my dh has eaten at Flemings in Indianapolis. I am glad you had a good time - I bet you were glad to get out of the house. Ds and I were home for two days for "snow" days (you would laugh, no snow at all and we have 13 days built in for snow days and have already used 6, none of which featured snow except a dusting). Anyway, we had to get out of the house one night and took ourselves to Logan's Roadhouse for their 2 entrees for $13.99 deal. It was really yummy, we haven't been before. Not Flemings, but still good!

Have a good weekend!

That Restaurant Week sounds like a fun thing. A way to get people to places they don't normally eat at usually. Glad you made it home before you turned into a pumpkin! LOL!

Sounds like you're getting a taste of what we got here a few weeks ago - a big snowfall followed by another big snowfall! At least you got some good helpers there!
Loved the pictures.
I wish we had restaurant week here - sounds like a great idea to try a new place. You made me hungry talking about that filet!

I am so glad hubby made it home okay. And how lucky are you that Grace likes to shovel. I didn't mind it so much either when I was younger. Glad I don't have to do that anymore. Enjoy the restaurant week. That sounds like yummy fun.

So glad that Bill made it home safely. Sounds like you had the perfect plans for a return celebration. Wish I could tell you that spring is right around the corner but that crazy groundhog would not cooperate. Sorry!

Gosh, I love seeing the snow photos. I've never lived where we got a lot of snow. We did get snow (and ice...yuck) when we lived in Nashville, but it didn't happen too often. I love to see it...just not sure I would want to have to deal with it. LOL

What a wonderful idea that your restaurants are doing! Wow!

Hugs!
Kat

I was thinking of you with the snow and now loving all the photos in this post and the one below. How delightful (if anything is delightful with this snow!). And by the way, when it comes to snow, I think child labor laws can be bent to the max!

So glad to hear hubby made it home. More snow!!! Good gravy. As long as it's snow and not another ice storm. It's sad to see what so many have gone through.
Ahh a night out, how I want one of those too. Wha!
What a fun filled weekend you had planned. Did you get to partake in it all??? ;)
