Ooh..Smell That Garlic...

Welcome to the annual Garlic festival at Cox Arboretum where the motto is, "Have a stinkin' good time!" The lovely table arrangements..seasonal lovelies arranged in hollowed pumpkins. Grace and her buddy, the Divine Miss M helping hold up a very large garlic clove. I'll have one of those and one of that and some of these... 2 pretty girls who absolutely reek of garlic! This little guy seemed to prefer the flowers over the garlic...
The wonderful smell of garlic simply permeated the air and oh how delicious everything tasted. Fantastic jazz bands, lots of friendly people, talented artists, seasonal displays and lots of laughter. Happy weekend to you all....please excuse my breath! I think that last garlic, brie and crouton soup did it!
Hugs, Susie Q

I'll have some of that too...whatever it is in the pot!!! I love garlic...and if we both eat it...it won't matter if we reek.

Love all your pictures. Grace and friend look so cute. Sounds like a fun event.

Gilroy has a huge garlic festival every year as well...i've always wanted to go, but it's about four or five hours north of us...not exactly a Sunday drive.

when you do drive through it, that's all you smell. makes my mouth water at first, then i think i'm gonna hurl.

pretty picture, huh?

You always go to the fun places and have such pretty pictures. Im so jealous. Why can't we have things like this? Did you eat some good things? Being from the south we use garlic in most everything.

That is so funny Susie. We have a garlic festival in California too.
It's in Gilroy, garlic central for California. It is in Northern California, below San Francisco.
It looks like you guys had a wonderful time. The pictures are so colorful. What fun in the Fall.
Thanks for sharing,
Rosemary

I LOVE garlic!!! Speaking of which, have you ever heard of a jar of minced garlic FREEZING in the fridge? Mine did. I sure hope I don't have to throw it out :-). Wow, how did I get on THAT? OH, the garlic festival...that's right. lol

How "stinkin" fun is THAT? Guess you didn't have to worry about being followed around by vampires, huh? (it IS almost halloween, you know)

Sue, those pictures you took are AWESOME!!! Thanks for sharing.

Wow, that looks like such fun! I'm a huge garlic lover. Have you ever made Spaghetti aglio e oglio? (sp?) Halve two garlic cloves, warm them in some olive oil along with some hot red pepper flakes, and pour it over your spaghetti. Salt and freshly ground pepper. Delicious!

Love your pics, Sue. Great post!

We've also attended a garlic festival in a town south of us. Don't they have the most unusual garlic items (like ice cream!)
Fun times!

Garlic and Mums!!! -giggles-

And thank you for liking my entry with Mums. But I had to tell you another comment I got on another Mum entry in a photo blog of mine. It's an especially cute comment!

Corey commented the following...

"In France these flowers are only for th feast of all souls day. I wanted to buy some and put them in our yard and my husband nearly fainted."
