Poetry AND Mr. D

Throw in some chocolate and you have got yourself a party! How I wish I could just run up to my favorite city next Monday. Too bad, I have a hair appointment and a girl never cancels a hair appointment! *sigh* Life is SO unfair! ~Brian Dennehy in "Long Day's Journey Into Night"~ Dennehy and Strong to Read Frost and Lowell Poems at NY Public Library April 7 As Part Of National Poetry Month

By Adam Hetrick 03 Apr 2008

Actors Brian Dennehy and Mark Strong will read the poetry of American writers Robert Frost and Robert Lowell for the New York Public Library's Council of Conservators on April 7.

Dennehy and Strong will join Irish theater producer and writer Josephine Hart for the 7 PM evening of poetry. Hart, who has presented her British Library poetry readings to great acclaim in the U.K., brings the series to America for the first time. The program also celebrates the publication of Hart's book, "Catching Life by the Throat: How to Read a Poem and Why."

A 6:30 PM reception will precede the 7 PM readings. The Conservators Program, which directly supports the Library's Annual Fund, is a membership group of nearly 800 individuals.

Dennehy is a Golden Globe Award, Screen Actor's Guild Award, Tony Award and London stage Olivier Award winner for his performance in Death of a Salesman and also won the Tony Award for his performance in Long Day's Journey Into Night. He most recently appeared in the Public Theater staging of Richard Nelson's Conversations in Tusculum, and will head to Stratford Stage in a double bill of Hughie and Krapp's Last Tape.

Mark Strong, an Olivier nominee for the Donmar Warehouse staging of Twelfth Night, has appeared in the films "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day," "Sunshine," "Fever Pitch" and "Emma."

It is probably just as well that you have a hair appointment since you are probably not one of the 800 members of the group and you would cause a scene trying to force your way into this gala affair and then Brian would never leave his wife for a jailbird. Also, you would would have to spend the bail money you promised me ;)

Do you know (I'm sure you do) that I have missed visiting your blog for like 10 days!?!?!? I mean ... I missed visiting EVERYONE's blogs for quite a few days but missing yours for so many days in a row led me to this observation. When I stop by after a too long absence, it really hits me how beautiful your pictures are and how funny your stories are. .. OK ... I knew this already ... but I mean REALLY hits me: the knit tree, the Easter brunch, beautiful Grace in her light blue easter dress chasing the black lab, the stain glass windows, all of those cool photos with your signatures on them ... it is official Susie! Your photos are my very favorite of ANY in blogland. I MEAN IT!!! You are just awesome. So when Brian Dennehy posted on your blog, I didn't see the April Fool's coming AT ALL. You really got me.
Also ... I figured out what is causing my absences. I have your link at the BOTTOM of my blog (as I do all the others) but usually I go to my favorites list and for some INSANE reason MY FAVORITE BLOG ON THE PLANET, YOURS, IS NOT ON MY FAVORITES LIST!!! WTH?!?!? So I have corrected that RIGHT THIS MINUTE. (Why am I shouting?) So you are FIRST on my list ... and I apologize profusely for the INSANE OVERSIGHT on the part of management for NOT putting you where I can easily click on you.
OK. Crazy long comment.
Thanks for visiting me! You'll see me again VERY VERY soon.

Hello Sweet Sue!
It was so good to stop by and see you today. What to crazy lately. But I got to stop by and see new pictures and hear new tales.

I am sooooooooooooo proud of the Darling Ms. Grace!!!
I can only imagine how her beautiful hair will contribute to an amazing wig for some little girl through Locks for Love! She is such a fantastic little girl. I'm so happy to "know" her.

Have a great weekend!
And thank you so much of your good thoughts you have sent for house hunting!

Hi SQ!!!

You are so funny... I love your bunny ears...and your profile.
Hair appointments are important, and I never miss mine either for fear that the grey monster beneath the surface will rear her silvery head!
Have a great day, SQ!

We are hoping to see Brian Dennehy perform in William Shakespeare's "All's Well That Ends Well" when it comes to Stratford in June. Knowing what a huge fan you are, if at all possible I will try and get you an autograph :-}!!

I find it simply unimaginable that you would miss seeing Mr. B read Mr. R. Frost...but I know exactly how it is, and you certainly can not miss a hair appointment! Such a pity he's missing a chance at meeting you...
