The Pleasures Of Spring And Nature's Tantrum

"Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year."
~ Robert Frost
"Sweet springtime is my time is your time is
our time for springtime is love time and viva sweet love. "
~ e.e. cummings
"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome."
~ Anne Bradstreet
Here I sit, waiting to hear from Bill again...it is 12:27 am and he is still stuck in Chicago. Ice pellets are in the forecast there and they are still waiting on the tarmac...awaiting an
updated weather report. He is tired I know and has a meeting here in town, this afternoon, at 1pm. Hopefully he will be able to return from the meeting and take a long nap.
He is flying into Columbus so will still have a bit of a drive when he does finally land. Oh the pleasures of airplane travel.
I hate for him to be flying in weather like this...but know he will be home by daybreak.
My Mom's procedure went well and she had no recurrence of cancer. That was such a relief.
Grace and I brought her home, we all ate dinner and we stayed with her until after 8pm and I was certain she was clear of the anesthesia.
Dan is still feeling ill but do you think he will see a doctor? He did go into work but headed to bed as soon as he got in. I have an ultimatum for him tomorrow! He may be all *grown up* but he lives here in MY home and he IS my son and he WILL go to a doctor if not fully cured by afternoon. Spoken like a true mom I guess but hey...enough is enough!
The cold front has arrived bringing with it lightening, thunder, torrential rain and high winds.
What a night...but it does make for good sleeping weather. Still, as tired as I am, I doubt sleep will come easily until I know Bill is either there for the night or home with us.
Oh how the rain is battering the bedroom windows, driven by a fierce wind...Kip and Lucy are unmoved by it all but little Henry seems to be curious as to just what is happening outside. He is sitting on the love seat, starring at the window, fascinated by Nature's Little Tantrum!
I guess I should try to get some rest. 6 am will be here before I know it.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday. Find something to smile about okay?
Hugs,
Susie Q

Suzie, I surely hope Bill is safely home. We had those storms just a few days ago. But, oh, we needed the rain so badly that it was all a blessing. Glad your mom is doing well. Keep safe.

I'm sorry about Bill's travel troubles. But very happy about your Mom's results.

And I fully agree with you Mom, on 'laying down the law' to your son, concerning some doctoring for this flu. Those young men just aren't wise, at times. -sigh- In fact, they can be just plain silly/stubborn and then, Mom has to step in.
