A Prayer Or Two...

Years move by so quickly...it was just yesterday that Debbie Burrell hosted a shower for me. It was early 1990 and Bill and I were awaiting Daniel's arrival from Korea. Debbie's husband Mike had been one of Bill's students while he was an instructor with VAW 120, the Navy's E2C Hawkeye training squadron. Now they were squadron mates in VAW 126 aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. Later that year they would both be on duty in the Persian Gulf. At that time, their son Christopher was an adorable and mischievous 10 year old. Today he is grown, quite handsome, an Army MP and the father of a beautiful 5 year old daughter. He is also at Walter Reed hospital where he is undergoing treatment. On December 26th Chris was hit by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) while on patrol in Iraq. I am posting a link to the Caring Bridge site where notes, prayers and good wishes can be left for Chris and his family. Just click on : Christopher Burrell and you will be quickly whisked there. One more note, Chris' Dad Mike is still on active duty. He is due to leave for Afghanistan very soon. Please keep them all in your prayers.
Love and hugs, Susie Q

Oh no Sue. This is such an awful thing to hear. I will keep him in my prayers. May God be with him and his family. I will leave some well wishes on the site you mentioned. I had the honor of meeting Bob and Lee Woodruff last year - he is such an inspiration and proof that there is hope after an IED injury.

Oh Sue...I have chills. I have just visited the Caring Pages site and read it all and saw the photos. I'm just sick knowing how many of our men and women are going through this. I promise I will keep Chris and his family in my prayers. I have already prayed for them tonight.

Hugs sweet friend.
