Up For A Trip To The Big Apple?

Ah, New York City. Amazing at any time of year but oh it gleams and sparkles during the holidays. You all know how much I LOVE New York City. I am totally over the moon about this gem of a city. I have visited during all 4 seasons but have yet to be there during the *holiday* season. Sad isn't it? I can see your eyes pooling with tears already...no? Ahem...but I know that our Kat is on her way to the Big Apple and don't I just envy her? I have turned the most vile shade of green and a crooked, pointy hat has magically appeared on my wee little head. Ooh! I should try out for one of the lead roles in "Wicked"! I SO look the part! But I will play nice and just say that I SO look forward to seeing her photos and reading all about her trip. Have fun dear Kat...maybe next year I will get there for Christmas! Oh, and Kat? If you see Brian Dennehy, give him a hug for me.

Winter time in NYC has always been my favorite. Except for when it was below 0 and the wind was blowing. I am a born New Yorker, living at the jersey shore now. It makes me so happy when other people appreciate the city. Thank you for that. Susan

Now that banner was quite startling to me. I mean, I took quite a turn...thought I'd fall out of the puter chair for a sec...scary stuff! Oh, and if you would e-mail me your address...I found the cutest thing and I need to send it to you...e-mail is

Oh Sue, New York is so special at Christmas. A couple of my friends and I use to take a charter bus and spend the day in the middle of December. My favorite is spending time in the Village. There are people selling pine cones and Christmas trees, people carrying trees on their shoulders just like a movie from the 40's. Lots of street vendors and the best herb and spice shop where you can buy by the partial ounce. Great for herbs you just need once a year and oh, so many soaps. Now I want to go!! What about Chelsea Market??

Oh my gosh, going to New York at holiday time is my biggest dream of dreams! I just wanna see the big tree, the rockettes and try my hand at ice skating. I watched the lighting of the tree a couple of weeks ago (just like every year) and it just made me tingle. Thanks for the great pics...

Anywhere you take your camera is a trip worth taking, Sue. You do such a fine job. I swear, you could make going anywhere delightful. But...I hope you go to NYC at Christmas time at least once. :) I've never been then, either.

Hi Sue,
I lived in upstate NY for 10 years and only made it to the city once. And that was just to drive thru to Brooklyn, to visit a friend.....So I really never got to see it. I have always wanted to go at Christmas time too... Thank you for the pictures!
Penny
p.s. and thanks for the tip about the borders....I didn't know I could go in and change that! So, I did...:-)

even though she's the one that introduced Brendan & myself, i'm still not sure i've forgiven her.

If your collage is any indication NYC looks spectacular. I can see why you'd really enjoy this Christmas season there.

Thank you so much for popping over and having a glass of eggnog with me.

Now about NYC. I LOVE IT!! My father was born in Manhattan and lived there until he was about 11 or 12. His first cousins still live there. And I have visited more times than I can even count now. My last trip was 2 weeks after 9/11. We had been planning for a while. In fact, my brother and SIL returned home from their trip the Sunday before the attacks. My parents went to NYC last December to take in all of the Christmas wonder this city has to offer. I'm more than a little jealous.

Thank you again for your visit. Come back again. There's always something out for guests.

Love,
Julie

My boss and his wife are flying to NYC to see their son for Christmas!

(It's a consolation prize for her, because their daughter is being a snit and won't let their only grandson come over for Christmas. The nerve!)

She isn't even putting up a tree at home, because she's so upset that Beau (who lives just down the street) won't be coming over to open presents. Her best friend bought her a 4-ft. prelit tree, though, that she's taking to NY with her.
