Just a few scenes from my week...a little of this and a little of that. We attended an afternoon performance of The Nutcracker at Dayton's Schuster Center. Grace has deemed this a must do tradition.
She gets a new nutcracker for her collection each year as well.
We were at my brother and sister in law's home last Sunday. Grace created her gingerbread house while there.
The architect's tools of the trade...
The finished project!
My nephew, the Booman, playing Santa!
Okay, so I taught Boo how do give "Nose Kisses" and he had to try it out on everyone!
Oh the face he made while planting a "Nose Kiss" on all of us! Grandma found it quite amusing!
Grace at Grandma's house, Christmas Eve.
Dan showing Boo how to play with Grace's Nintendo DS. Now, what's up with the hat on Dan's head you ask? ARGH...the kid got his head shaved a bit TOO short and knew I hated it. Thus, the head gear. I realized that every picture I had of him also featured *The Hat* on Christmas night. Oh well...a hat is just a hat right?
Showing Grace how to play....
Christmas morning...Santa brought the coveted American Girl Samantha doll. There was much rejoicing in the land.
We visited with friends at our buddy *T*'s house. This is Grace with Daddy and our dear friend *J*. He and his wife *B* drove up from Tennessee to visit.
The kid in the hat with the dog in the bandana.
Grace with her beloved Henry.
Just a few shots of a happy week. It was just the sort of Christmas we love best. Unhurried and quiet. Lots of good food, good movies, good friends, family, laughter and boisterous conversation.
We are off to have lunch with the family...I hope your weekend is a sweet one. 2007 is rapidly coming to a close. I have so much for which to be grateful. I am, as always, so blessed to have each one of you in my life. Your friendships mean so much. Here's to a splendid 2008 for us all and a Blogging Babe Blowout Bonanza this year!
Love and hugs,
Susie Q

happy new year!
What a beautiful holiday your pictures reflect! I too love the Nutcracker, my daughter-in-love danced in the production several years in a row when she was young, so it is an annual tradtion for our family also.
SusieQ: Loved the photos...what a wonderful week you had. Grace sure is growing up. I've only known her since May and she has grown so much since then. I can't believe how quickly 2007 has gone by. We sure do have lots for which to be greatful.
PS: I love your new header and colors!
I am just loving the pictures...and Grace is quite the young lady...and the Hat! Bless him, at least he doens't have hair down to his shoulders, lol...tell Grace I think her Henry is adorable! Happy New Year if I don't get to tell you before!!
xo

The pictures are all just FANTABULOUS!! Love the colors, and the smiles, and the joy in all of them!!
Looks like you all had a wonderful Christmas!!
(My computer is still being mean to me and I am just now getting around to visiting some blogs. Just wanted to pop on here and wish you a very belated merry Christmas!!)
Now you lay off The Hat. Things could be much worse. He could have hair hanging down in his eyes and he could spend hours explaining to you how HE can SEE through the hair, even if YOU can't SEE his eyes and he could further roll the aforementioned rarely seen eyes all the way back into his brain every time you mention the fact that his flippin' hair is way too long in the front. But I digress. The point is, your children look perfect... dog, cat, hat and ALL! Be happy!
By the way, I was watching Legal Eagles today and saw your hottie, Brian Dennehy. Made me think of you!! lol
Susie, I loved looking at all your photos and visiting Dayton again. My niece danced in the Nutcracker a few years back. That was so exciting!
I love the pictures of Grace. She is such a happy child! I wish I had one of those white gowns(?) she has on, but it probably wouldn't look as good on me.
Henry is such a beautiful cat!
I am glad that you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. May you have a blessed New Year in 2008!

Thanks for sharing all tose beautiful pictures fo your Christmas. Whishing you and your family a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ohhhhhh Samantha!!! She was the first American Girl doll I got for my first Granddaughter!!! Many more were added, from then on, of course. The second Granddaughter didn't want anything to do with dolls. {Yes, oh sigh-moan-sob-sigh} ,-) But now, the third Granddaughter has been asking Nana and Pop for American Girl dolls for a few years now! :-))))
Guess what Dear Susie Q? Your little girl is growing up. When she's all dressed up, you can see the lovely young lady coming through. :-) But making a gingerbread house, she's still more little. :-)
I now have grand daughters who are {nearly} 16, 14, and 9... so I am watching all the phases, right before my eyes. :-)
Hugs and a Happy and Healthy New Year to you and to yours!
Mari-Nanci

Looks like you had a wonderful holiday. I am so thrilled to have met you, and I wish you and your family a bright and happy new year!

The pictures are great! I love the way Grace looks in her red dress! It's wonderful that "The Nutcracker" is a family tradition now, thanks to Grace. My mom used to take me when I was young, to Lincoln Center in NYC, but we didn't go every year. (We did Radio City Music Hall most years.) I'll never forget how magical that was, and I bet Grace never will, either!
Grace looks very elegant for the Schuster center :) Love the pics, you all look so happy. Gosh we didn't take any family pics this year, we err, well kind of forgot.LOL!
All the best for the New Year to you and your family.
love Corrine

Happy New Year to you & yours, dear friend!

A Blogging Babe Blowout Bonanza! Sounds great!
Your family pictures are so pretty, what wonderful memories you'll have. Grace looks so pretty & grown up in her red dress & you see lots of those hats today so don't sweat it....poor guy must have a cold head!
Thank you for thinking of me, the kind comments & well wishes for the new year.
Happy New year to you & yours, Hugs, DebraK
Great photos, and I don't mind Dan's hat a bit. Probably because I'm obsessing about making knit hats. :) I finished one for Drama Girl yesterday. It's a little big, but she loves it. One of these days the gauge will match the pattern. :O)
Looks like fun was had by all.
Grace looked beautiful in her red dress. I love her new doll.
Rosemary
Nose kisses are aka Eskimo Kisses :) I do them with Bryce
Yes, a thankful time indeed, your Christmas looked absolutely delightful
Your family makes me smile. Grace is a darling. Your husband and son are hunks. Your mom is stunning. And you are BEAUTIFUL! Though I don't see many photos of you up. (You're like me... too busy taking them.)
