How Many Gastroenterologists Does It Take To Screw In A Light Bulb?

I just wanted to see if you would grin...there. I see it. The corners of your mouth are beginning to curl upwards...oh yes. Those words are actually on a plaque in the doctor's office. Have I mentioned that he has a rather wicked sense of humor? Something I tend to find quite attractive in a man...not necessarily a man who knows me quite so intimately but still... Do you know how many men does it take to change a roll of toilet paper? We don't know - it's never happened. Did someone say *colonoscopy*? Yes, we are back in Mom's gastroenterologist's office and oh but we so enjoyed the wonderful array of books he has in his waiting room.... Sheesh Gracie, don't get all head over heels about it. I just have a real *potty* mouth today! Did you know that 40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year. It's true! Give us a smile...come on...you won't be asked to get that base line colonoscopy for about 41 years! Okay Mom, enough with the *potty* humor...We hope we didn't offend anyone but we are just two wild and crazy ladies who, for some strange reason known only to their gastroenterologist, get a little silly in doctor's offices. All of this silliness is to make you smile and get really serious about getting that colonoscopy! It might even save your life! If you are 50 or older, run, do not walk, down to your nearest gastroenterologist's place of business and sign yourself up! It's fun! All your friends are doing it! And, if you are really lucky, your doctor's visit will be a real gas... Have a sweet weekend dear friends!

You are absolutely a scream!!

Oh yes, that fun test. I'm not sure I know what my doctor looks like, if you know what I mean. :-)

When I had the big scope five years ago and was given a clean bill of health,I was so thrilled that I wanted to send the photos in full color as Christmas cards!

Yep, five years ago, so you know what that means. It's my turn again in January. Can hardly wait.

That is a great warning to everyone to get a colonoscopy, it saves lives.

As a little girl once told my husband, "You're too silly for yourself!"

Don't go changing, Sue! We love you just the way you are!

Sue,
A great reminder and a fun one at that. Why is it that women know we need to go (for the test that is) and just make the appointment and get it over with, but men procrastinate and agonize over it? The worst part was going hungry for a day; clearly I was not meant to live in a third world country! That reminds me to make a donation to the local food pantry. Thanks for that reminder as well, LOL.

You are a lunatic. Big surprise there, huh? lol

Just wanted to let you know I am so in love with that CD! Randey and I listened to it a little bit last night (I had to give it a quick listen - couldn't wait until today!) and exclaimed "Now THAT'S the kind of Christmas music I like!". I've got it playing right this very minute, too. I can't believe I've never heard of her - she's fantastic. I just want to find a comfortable seat, turn all the lights out, shut the blinds and pretend I'm sitting in a concert hall somewhere soaking her voice in! Thank you so very much for introducing me to her music. That's as much a gift to me as the actual gift itself. I love it and YOU!
Merry Christmas!
Kari

Bully must be a cousin of Walter...at least he has some similar traits!!! What a cute children's book that must be...if my Grandson wasn't all grown up I would have to get that for him.

Yes, I'm over 50 and the fact is all my friends over 50 and some "under" are getting their colonoscopies. Makes for interesting discussion around the water cooler...yikes!!!

ROFL oh Sue!!!! Only you and Grace would have so much fun in a Gastroenterologist's office! My mom has to have a colonoscopy every year and yup, we make sure she hears every "gas" joke there is known to mankind! lol xox

I used to work as a receptionist in a gastro office in TX...if only everyone had your doc's sense of humor.
The Farting Dog...lol...I remember one nurse would reassure the women that the prep they had canceled out the stink so blow that gas out or your gonna hurt...she never had to tell the men...lol!

Have a great day! =)

I love my gastro doc. I call him my miracle worker because, after 8 months of stomach pain, and 3 other doctors, he was the one who found my problem (an ulcer) and got me on the road to recovery. He's very caring and gentle, too. I had a colonoscopy back when I was sick, so I'm okay for a few years. It truly isn't that bad--except for that cr*p they make you drink. But I hear there's a pill form of it now, so maybe next time, it'll be even easier!

You and Grace are such STINKERS!!! OH...sorry, couldn't resist!!!

Oh yeah....you got a serious smile out of me. And even more!!! The "potty" humor and the "gas" at the end really "cracked me up" (which Sydney would totally say...and it seems sorta appropriate right here!!LOL)

And I LOVE the pics!!!!

When you can laugh at the GE doc's, you can laugh at just about anything. :) Reminds me of my grandma's favorite axiom of life: "You just as well laugh as cry." Good old Iowa wisdom, and i'll take it. And, I agree with the others. What pretty eyes you have!

I love colon humor. Ive been an nurse for 26 years and at some strange point in my career , it became funny. I guess you laugh to keep from fainting when your around such things all day. Colonoscopies have come so far (no pun, I swera) and are really quite fast, painless and with no lingering effects thanks to newer methods of low level anesthesia. Love your blog. I'm a huge fan of rabbits so when I saw bunnies and colon humor, I knew God had led me here. hehehe.
Blessings,
Darly
