Lovely Places Drei

I have been lucky to visit so many places courtesy of old Uncle Sam,and I will always be grateful for those experiences. I am choosing just some of the sweet places we have lived/visited and places that I usually feel safe in suggesting to others as ideal vacation spots.
Of course there are far more areas, towns & cities in each of these states that are fantastic destinations. I am just taking a little walk down our personal memory lane and refreshing my own brain cells.
We were stationed in the Tampa area for 3 years and had great fun venturing out and seeing all that this area of the country has to offer.
And, the northern portion of the Gulf Coast, particularly Pensacola, is lovely as well. We were stationed in Pensacola twice during Bill's career. More beautiful beaches, with their sugar white sand, can not be found anywhere.
Warm Gulf breezes, herons, egrets, pelicans, manatees, dolphins and the occasional alligator greet you. There is so much to offer here along Florida's Gulf Coast...go inland a bit and find Lake Wales, home of the beautiful Bok Tower and Gardens.
Tampa Bay, St. Petersbug and Clearwater Florida....Sarasota, North to Pensacola, South to Key West, the most southern point in the US or East to St. Augustine, lovingly referred to as America's Oldest City.
Florida can be a vacationer's paradise....

i've been to St. Pete Beach once..my first trip to DisneyWorld with friends, we stayed there @ SPB with another friend who was travelling there for work.
the best hotel EVAH - the Sandpiper, and the best drink, a "shake" with all kinds of yummy goodies in it...unfortunately they also had horseflies the size of my cat. totally gross!

I was born and raised in Central Florida (we just moved away from our home town 4 years ago) so this is like a trip down memory lane. Gosh ... this really, really, REALLY makes me miss Florida more than I already do.

Ok, not sure if it's just me or not, but I can't see any of your pictures on your last post. But I'm sure they're beautiful!!!

oh this dull day it is lovely to see your pictures and a bit of sunshine. Then of course I pine for a day at the beach. Last time I saw Pensacola was too long ago.
Your photos are beautiful.

I'm in the same boat as Dawn. None of the pictures are showing up on my end. I'll try again later to see if I can view them. Since I live in Sunny Florida I know up front and personal about its beauty. If you ever come back for a visit, we must get together!

I'm still for a girls weekend in NYC!

Me too! {I cannot see the photos?} I will try back again later.
The beach sounds like a wonderful place to be right now!

I can see the pictures now and have been to most of the Florida places you mention. I adore the Lighthouse at Saint Augustine and standing at the Southernmost point in Key West next to the sign that reads "90 miles to Cuba" is pretty awesome. The drive south through all of the keys with the crystal blue water on both sides of you is breathtaking!
