Lovely Places Deux

Bill and I spent a week in both Charleston and Savannah to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed in lovely inns and dined on fabulous food. Both of these cities make an indelible impression on you and you will find yourself wondering often...when can we make a return visit...
Charleston, South Carolina...varied and wondrous architecture, splendid out lying plantations, in town houses painted in every color of the rainbow. Fragrant parks, walks along the water...the Battery...the Old Market where traditional Gullah baskets are woven...some call this gem "the most historic city in America". It certainly is one of our most lovely.
Savannah Georgia...some of the most wonderful architecture in the USA, all surrounded by brick cobbled streets. Lovely, lush and peaceful spaces, 24 park like squares, parks with those glorious live oaks richly covered in Spanish moss. In Forsyth Park you will find one of the prettiest marble fountains in all of the US and blankets of azalea bushes.

LOVE both of those cities! Two of my absolute favorite places in the US!We were actually in Savannah this past summer and had a BLAST. It's just so gorgeous and genteel and "Southern" (btw, we went to Beafort SC one time while on a trip out that way and you would love it too. Beautiful homes!)

OMGosh! Charleston and Savannah! Two of my most favorite places, especially Savannah. We love the beaches on Hilton Head too. We have friends living in Savannah. The hubby is a tug boat captain, as his father was before him, and his father before him. We haven't been to visit in quite a while. Would love to eat at Paula Dean's restaurant next time we're there. Perhaps we will wonder down that way after this move is behind us. xoxoxo
