Sweet Ones

It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all. ~Laura Ingalls Wilder ~Do click on each photo for an even better peek!~ We can see 3 sweet little faces...where is number 4? Of course, Susie Q is obsessing about it! Worry truly IS my middle name. Okay, so it isn't but it SHOULD be! But aren't those 3 faces dear? Grace says they are *yucky* right now but what do 10 year old girls know? High School Musical they know but baby birds? Nah... We will keep you posted! The front door at Rabbit Run is quite a mess, the door basket quite crooked, the front porch quite dirty and the front yard in dire need of a clean up. Mama Robin simply does not allow it! I grab the camera and run out when I see she has left the nest but she caught me this afternoon! I now have a sore spot on the top of my head. Ouch! See what I brave to provide photos for you all? Photojournalism at it's extreme! I am sure most of you are offering prayers for those in our nation who faced the weather tragedies this past weekend. I know that most of you are remembering the people of Myanmar as well. Tonight, please also take a moment to pray for the Chinese who are facing their 2nd day of fear and heartache. The earthquake occurred not far from where we visited and where our daughter once lived. Precious people...strong people. My heart is there tonight... I hope you all had a special weekend. I will be by to visit you all soon. I always love to see what you have each been doing. I send you hugs and much love. Susie Q

There are many sparrow nests in the blue spruce -- but I can't get in there to take a photo.

My daughters neighbor has a hummingbird nest on their windchimes!!

Hi Susie Q!

Oh those babies are just adorable.

I'm so sad about the earthquake too. All the crazy weather lately! It's amazing how weather can bring such happiness sometimes and yet such destruction, fear, and pain other times.

Stop by my place when you get a chance...there's a special award waiting for you to pick up. You are deserving of this one for sure!

Hugs!
Kat

Baby birds are a curious mix of ugly cuteness I always think.

Hi Sue, love the photos.

We had Barn Swallows at the farm. They always nested on our front porch, which was 60 feet long. There were several nests each year. I walked every morning and every morning they would swoop and dive over my head but never hit me! We have them at our front door at the lake. The kids were there the other day and noticed they are there again this year. They don't bother us, though.

When we were out and about the other day, I saw a new Mommy duck and her babies. I have the photo on my photo blog Mother's Day post. She nests in the parking lot of J's cousin's shop, every year. It's across from the city park and pond. The babies hatched, the day before.

I love those baby birds - and one day, Grace will be able to appreciate them too.

I have already said prayers for the Chinese. Between that, and the cyclone, there has been much death and destruction on that side of the world.

Susie,

Your baby birds are delightful! It won't be long before they are fully feathered and flown from home.

Praying for those in China and Myanmar.

You ARE brave. Do you still have your hair?
When I taught, we had swallows nesting on a beam above my classroom door. Every year we enjoyed seeing those babies so much. Fat little fluffy guys. So contented looking and darling. The first graders were always so amazed that the babies don't poop in the nest. Always back their little bums over the back of the nest and let it drop.
Glad you have been able to keep them safe from the cat. I'll be anxious to hear about number four!
And yes I have been watching the news with interest. So many deaths! Wow. My heart goes out to them.
Thankful to be safe and well tonight.

Hi Susie
I love to watch the birds too! I always have a family of love birds coming to my feeder every summer.

Thoughts and prayers for all the people in the world effected by the extremes of nature this spring. Thanks for the gentle reminder!

Hugs, Pat

What an amazing photo!

I don't think anyone will have all the answers to why disasters are allowed to happen...yet I know God cares for our souls. And this picture reminds me of the passage where Jesus says that not a sparrow falls from the nest that He doesn't see...And He's touched with the feeling of our infirmity.

Blessings!

Ohhh, I love the sweet babies! We have some new baby birds too but they are a little older and running out of their nests. They were running everywhere so I couldn't get a picture. What bird would nest on the ground?

Awe.....so sweet! We never see the nests around here, we live in the middle of a forest - but the mom and dad cardinals, hummingbirds and great crested fly catchers bring their babies to our feeder to teach them how to find food! It is so fun to watch!
Hugs,
Penny
