I am hoping you all remember the old classic song
"Grace's Sewing Teacher Has A Farm...Ei, Ei Oh..."
You will need to sing along while you read this post...no? Okay. Hum? No?
Okay, then *I* will sing...WAIT! Don't leave! I am just kidding! I won't sing!
Fall sewing session began this afternoon and, as always Grace was thrilled. The kid loves to sew! And she is darned good too. I can brag about this as she did not get any of this talent from me. Right? Besides, I can barely thread a needle (I blame my 50 year old eyes for this! Not that my 21 year old eyes did any better!)) so imagine how proud I am of her! This is the quilt that Grace pieced over the Summer! It has now been quilted and she is tickled to pieces with it!
See how excited she is about it?
I can't decide...which flower is prettier? Ah yes, the one
on the bottom. The one with the huge smile...
Not a bad way to spend a few hours on a Fall afternoon...um...it
is still Summer right? But oh, it felt like Fall! Glorious!

You're telling me a CHILD made that quilt? Can you hear me sobbing in the background??? FINE! Tell Grace I said congratulations and it's beautiful and everything else and then tell her thank you so very much for adding to my woeful feelings of inadequacy! A CHILD made that? Really? Gosh...it's too much to bear. AND it's amazing. SHE'S amazing. We've got to get together SOON. It's time Grace got to meet her Aunt Kari so she'll know just what fabrics would be perfect for MY quilt. lol
I think yesterday was the prettiest day ever here in OH-IO...
How proud she is...I would be too...I think if I did something like that I would be "attempting" cart-wheels...lol!!

What an accomplishment!! I'm impressed. The quilt is beautiful. Such vivid colors. Way to go, Grace!!
what a glorious place! i wish everyone could be there for one afternoon in their lives!
Grace is indeed a talented young lady. What a very special quilt she has finished. I started sewing when I was only about 7 years old. I made doll clothes for my first efforts.
I hope she will always love to sew, and keep you and her family in special heirlooms for years to come. Go Grace!
