Warren

While visiting Jamestown, we stayed in a beautiful little town named Warren. Warren, on the banks of the Allegheny River, is in Pennsylvania, almost on the New York border. Warren ranked second on the 2007 list of “Best Places to Live in Rural America.”
Stately office buildings... Sweet shops filled with treasures... Lovely old churches...
Founded in 1795, the City was named for General Joseph Warren, a distinguished patriot. Supported in the 19th and 20th centuries by the oil and lumber industries, wealthy barons left a legacy of over 600 extraordinary structures. These structures represent 25 different styles of architecture and may be viewed on a self-guided tour of the tree-lined Registered Historic District. At 28 blocks, the Historic District is one of the largest in the state. Founded in 1795, the City was named for General Joseph Warren, a distinguished patriot. Let's take a little drive around Warren and visit some of the pretty homes....
Such a lovely town. If you are ever in the area, stop by and spend a little time. You won't be disappointed!

Ms. Susie, you are still taking the most fabulous pics ever! And still traveling & are still one of the sweetest bloggers I know! I only wish I had another ME to get by to see all of you more often. It's just getting SO crazy to visit all of my wonderful friends & time gets away from me.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my bedroom. It truly is a haven & I'm enjoying getting some new business so I can decorate for others now.

xo,
Rhoda

When I first saw the title Warren, my mind flashed back to this boy in college who'd made me nuts. He had a massive crush on my roommate and would hang around our room, gazing at her like a puppy. Once he even told me, "Even her teeth are perfect!" Ugh.

This Warren is SO MUCH BETTER!
I sure can see why it was ranked so highly.
One day after Oprah discovers my book (I can dream) I want to live in an old house like one of those, one with some history!

Love the post Susie Q!

YOUR road trip beat mine all to pieces! I also love the old buildings and try to imagine the happenings that took place in them years ago when they were newer--what the people were like who lived or worked there--what they looked like, etc. They just sometimes take my breath away. Your trip to Jamestown sounded so much fun!!! I was pleased to find out all of the intereting info about L. Ball! Thanks for your terrific posts! Dana
