A Lazy Summer Weekend

Just a few shots from our weekend...such sweet days. Sunny and low humidity, cooler temperatures, family, friends and fun. The last lazy weekend of Summer...school begins this week!
I hope your weekend was a lovely one and that all is well in your corner of the world.
Grace starts back to school on Wednesday and yes, I will miss having her around all day. I always dreaded the beginning of school with Daniel and now, with Grace. I loved being able to spend more time with them. Gosh but it all goes by so, so quickly.
Grace is excited about the upcoming year and a wee bit nervous too of course. She has a wonderful teacher and her best friend is in the same class so that is as good a start as possible! We did her back to class clothes shopping last week, Grace got a new haircut and has all the needed (and wanted) school supplies at hand. I would say we are as ready as we are going to be!

Good luck to Grace. We're still in summer until the 3rd, but we didn't get out until the 18th of June. Still, it has gone by sooo quickly.

I still have a couple years to go before my kiddos are school aged. I sure am enjoying the time I have with them. I dread taking them to school for the first time.

I remember how shy Grace was of swimming when she first came back with you - and that picture of her jumping with gusto into the pool tells me how much things have changed for her. Wonderful!

The school year is bittersweet isn't it? I work with so many parents that feel the same way. Excited and sad in the same breath. My friend is sending her baby and only girl off to college this weekend, she's taking it much differently than she did with her boys. Go Gracie, Go Gracie!!

That's so sweet that you miss Grace when she goes to school - my mom said she always felt the same way, with all four of us!

(It's not that I don't miss Anna Marie, but since I work all day and don't get to be with her, it isn't really much of a change, you understand.)

I've nearly forgotten the excitement of school's return.
I don't live close enough to the grandkids to get involved in theirs either.

I've seen some lovely windmill pictures lately. It almost makes me want to start a photo album of windmills. The ones up on the foothills around here are wind turbines...making electricity. I prefer the old ones.
