He Didn't Take The Bait

A red brick Georgian home in a great Oakwood, Ohio location.
Offered at $595,000 by Felix S McGinnis
937-602-5976
*sigh* Old Billy Boy would not take the bait. Silly man thought the *Father of the Bride* house was too expensive for us. Hm...I offered to serve him nothing but mac and cheese for the next 20 years and, for some reason, he STILL balked.
But hey. Being the good wife that I am, I found a few other places that would be quite do-able and still eat hamburger now and then.
How about that first one? Heck, that living room alone sold me. But still too high? Okay then...
I can do even better price wise and still get a lot of charm. How about a house in the Oregon Historic neighborhood of Dayton?
Offered at $275,000 by Listing Agent: Swick, Denise 937-743-2350, this home has gorgeous woodwork, a lovely garden and an adorable garden house.

Back into the $500 + range, we have this home in Waynesville, Ohio, just down the road from the town where we live.

I could love the wallpapered bathroom (The match for the pretty laundry room next door) and how about this pass through shower? Hmmm...but I KNOW I love the wine cellar room. Look at the brick work and copper sink. *sigh*

Offered by Listing Agent: Kyle Bowling 937-432-0246

In the $670 + range, we have this house which reminded me of Diane Keaton's home in Something's Gotta Give.

I would love this house for the bedroom and master bath alone! Talk about sweet serenity!

Listing Agent: Sherman, Patsy 937-298-6000

Yes, yes. I do love our Rabbit Run Cottage and I doubt we will be making any moves too soon.

Bill and I have been quite happy here even without the fancy amenities and, well, square footage of many homes. Still, I can glean ideas and have a little fun looking right? And if Billy dear is ever feeling really guilty about anything, I have a home or two to show him. Naw...he will never feel THAT guilty. Nope.

Have a wonderful Friday!

Love and Hugs,

Susie Q

You are a funny girl Susie...I love your home and I can't see you making any changes because it might change you! None of those houses hold a candle to your home! So good on Bill, don't take the bait...but a lovely piece of Jewelry I'm sure would not come amiss!

I like the third one best, maybe because it looks new and the bedroom look so good and spacious.

Hi Susie,
All of those prices sound good to me, being from Southern California, where everything is high even in a bad market.
Thanks for a look at all of the great homes out there.
You have a great Friday too!

Thanks Sue, I live in a cracker box apartment and now you've got me lusting for those homes. I LOVE the walk through shower! I guess I can keep my eyes closed and dream I'm there when I'm taking a shower. xxoo

Oh Sue...these homes are so lovely but yours is as well. So if Bill won't take the bait I think you'll do just fine. Fact is...I love Mac and Cheese...perhaps he does too!!!

It's always fun to see how these places are decorated. Makes me think I should go "tweak" things a bit around here.

Susie, this is my first time visiting your blog, and I was hooked by the roses! Is that your rose garden? WOW! Don't trade your house if it is. Just beautiful.

I followed the rabbit trail over from Rhoda's and wanted to thank you for posing about my little rabbit hutch on her blog. Thanks much.

I can't wait to go hopping around through the rest of yours. So much to see in this thread alone. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to share.

Have a great weekend!

PS: That house does look like Diane Keaton's in Somethings Gotta Give - which is one of my all time fav movies!!

super cool houses!

But not quite as pretty as yours.

That pass through shower? That is interesting! Picturing crazy uses for it. Like running out of the house to work (no time for a shower honey! Psshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht! Nevermind!)

I love your home and like you we will stick with 1800s.f. and consider ourselves lucky. With just two of us it is huge and it is fun to redo one room at a time and erase all the ravages of four boys. Love 'em, but their leftover "decor" has to go! This house is no longer the Testosterone Temple, lol.

How fun. Makes me want to tour homes to put me in the mood to take care of things here at home I really have been lazy about. Good idea!

OMG I cannot believe these homes - amazing! You have to know my dream home is the one from Something's Got to Give (although it's a home in the Hamptons and worth more than a small country). I love to look at homes and then I don't...because I come back to my wee sugar shack and realize just how small it really is.
You should know though, the prices you showed would be double that (if not more) here in California.
XOXOXOX
