Egad! And A Recipe To Boot!

In the questions post. I DID forget to mention Decorating Cents didn't I? Egad! I love Joan Steffand and the show. The format has been tweaked some over the years but it is one that I still adore watching.
I still like Design on a Dime, Curb Appeal and several others that have been around for some time.
I can still remember when HGTV went on the air! How exciting! An entie network devoted to decorating and homes and...well, it was fantastic!
And, I also have one more question to answer! Tara has asked what my favorite, no fail recipe is.
Now, I could say whatever I pick up at McDonald's but I actually DO cook. Sometimes.
I really do!
I can add a few recipes later this week but you know what my never fail, easy as pie recipe is? Remove the skin from chicken thighs (Breasts work well too), melt margarine in a bowl and add garlic, parsley and pepper. (Could be fresh, minced garlic and parsely or straight out of a jar)
Pour the seasoned margarine evenly over the chicken and bake. Usually an hour at 350 does it. Serve it over rice (My family is hooked on *souped up* rice. Minute rice cooked in a cream soup such as Mushroom. This can be doctored up a little) Add some fresh, well seasoned green beans and you have a meal!
It is fast, good and everyone seems to love it. Could not be more simple!
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Stay well and safe and smile often!
Love and Hugs,
Susie Q

Hi Susie!
I am so far behind and was catching up with a lot of blogging friends this week...
so a belated welcome back from your trip! Loved seeing the D.C. photos!

I was scrolling over your last few posts...I wasn't familiar with the lovely illustrator\writer who passed on, but she sounds like she was such a treasure!

And don't get me started on HGTV...I love those shows and am addicted to watching it at night before falling asleep.
Remember that show, "Room by Room"? I loved watching that one in the early years of the network..."If Walls could Talk" is great, but I liked the original host the best...and of course, House Hunters!
(See, told you not to get me started!) ;)
Blessings,
~Tammy

Hi sweet Susie Q! Where have I been and how have I missed your recent post since you returned from D.C.? Time is passing by so fast. Just seems like Spring was here along with the first daffodils and now I am picking squash. I am so disappointed with HGTV lately. My family always teased me about watching it so much. I miss Decorating Cents, Kitty's show and Country Style too. (my personal favorite) I do love Divine Design and dream of having Candace (queen of pot lights) redo my home....yeah right! It amazes me to watch the shows where people are looking for a new home and turn them down just because they don't like the color of the paint...say what? LOL...Okay I will get off my high horse and shut up. Hope your Sunday is the Best! xo Lynn

Happy Sunday to you dear Sue:-)

I'm spending the afternoon trying to catch up with everyone...story of my life lately! lol I so loved seeing the pictures and hearing about your trip to DC...beautiful!

I was so saddened to hear of Tasha Tudor's death. I loved her illustrations in The Secret Garden book, as well as Little Women.

The recipe for the chicken sounds so yummy...anything with garlic has to be good:-) Hope you're having a great day my friend. xoxo

Hi Susie Q,
Your chicken recipe sounds easy and good. I think I'll wait for a cooler day to turn the oven on though. Today Bill is grilling outside!

You know I really think I am your long lost sister; we have so much in common. I will have to try the chicken with butter, no margarine for me, thanks. Go natural or go home is my kitchen motto!! Don't worry I will be glad to cook when we have the "family" reunion ;)

I always watch HGTV and love the shows. I always liked the country home which is not on any more. Decorating is my passion and that station is wonderful.

I've stopped watching HGTV as much too. It used to be beautiful with tons of info on how to improve your home.

Speaking of idiot buyers.... Someone didn't like my house because I had a mirror on an outside wall. They didn't know what it was for. HUH? How about to be decorative and to look at a reflection rather then the blank wall from the kitchen! People are strange. LOL

I love watching Joan Steffand on Decorating Cents. There's something about her that makes me think she's actually my friend. lol

Good recipe. I use rosemary (sparingly) with parsley and a little lemon juice. I spray the chicken with a little Olive Oil Pam, then rub the seasoning over it and bake. Yumm-o. Randey and the boys are starting to think I've gotten the hang of this whole "cooking" thing. ha!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm butter.

When I call the kids to dinner they go get the cereal bowls from the cupboard or say "I'm not really hungry."

Hmmmm. I wonder why?
