What A Girl Needs...

...what a girl wants. Accessories. To accessorize. To punch up an outfit using lots of colorful beads and baubles and hair thingees and scarves and shoes and purses. Maybe this is not how Mr. Webster would define it but it is definitely how our Gracie does. So, what does a diva do when she wins a gift certificate from a custom sewn purse boutique? Ah...um...scream? Oh, that too. Then pester Mom until we git 'er done. So, today we got 'er done. Grace had today off so a Grandma, Mom and daughter shopping extravaganza was long overdo. The scene of pure delight. A clothing boutique downstairs, a designer purse boutique up. Heaven must surely be like this... Now, you have to love any shop that decorates like this right? Okay, I'm climbing...don't push...I've been sick ya know... And then...we reached it...Grace gasped. I panted...hey. That was one long gosh durned flight of steps ya know and I have been sick! Ahem... There we were. Inside Jenna Claire. And it was glorious! You start by choosing the basic style you want...and there were many from which to choose. Then it is off to choose your fabrics and ribbon and, well, you get the picture. Grace was in LALA land the entire time we were there. We were assisted by the delightful Debby and she could not have been sweeter or more help. Grace adored her and looks forward to returning to see Debby again! How can you not love a shop that offers you chocolate covered strawberries? Grace and Debby choose the goodies... Grace showing off one of her choices. Debby introduced Grace to Mary in the workroom and they showed her around much to a certain *almost 10 year old's* delight! Everyone could not have been nicer. It was a fun and memorable experience. Grace is still in serious LALA land over it all and Mom, well, I had a blast watching my girl. Thank you to everyone at Jenna Claire... the shop is amazing!

This looks like you had so much fun, Sue!

I'd like to invite you back over to the back porch for another look at my snap shot post. My daughter and granddaughter have a blanket project going for St Louis Childrens Hospital. I'd love for you to have a look. The info is at the bottom of the above mentioned post. You and Grace might like to make a blanket together. Kim's blog is under construction, but the blanket story and Elijah's story has been published there

Thanks! Pat

Oh my!! How I would have loved doing this when I was 10!! I loved handbags and shoes so much but I never had many of either. Just the necessities!! How ironic that now I can't be bothered to change from one purse to another..I carry one until it falls apart then change because I have to!! And shoes..well, since I discovered Crocs..that's it. Year round..holes and all even in winter!! LOL Now I'm all about comfort!!

I do still love to look at handbags and love all the pretty fabrics they are using now. Can't wait to see Grace's final choice. What fun for all three of you to visit this place and especially to get some of those yummy looking chocolate strawberries!! (See where my priorities lie now?) LOL

Hugs,
Hope

I'm so glad she had a good time. I can't wait to see what her final purse looks like.

Enjoy your weekend, my friend.

Hi Sue!
I didn't know you were sick because I was also sick and just trudging along. Didn't get around to many (any?) other blogs. So glad you are on the mend. And what a great shop! Wow. Fabulous idea. And such a cute dog post, having your little cutie patootie puppie write your blog. You are SO dang funny.
And as for the get together, it would be great to have it line up with a season or event. If we are coming out your way, I think it would be great if summer weren't in full force anymore ... cuz we Californians will melt! We are spoiled by tropical breezes. ha. But the thought of the scenery in the fall is way the heck tantalizing to me! And we can all wear sweaters.
Of course ... I'll have to figure out the baby sitting thing for Tristan. He will be in kindergarden then. But with enough notice anything is possible, don't you think?
The only absolute no no dates for me are September 23: Tristan's birthday and October 4th: My sixth anniverary. Every thing else should be wide open.
Those are my thoughts. I think you are sweet to be willing to put all that effort into arranging all of this. If I can save up my money and get a sitter you won't be able to keep me away! (and as I am no doubt the rowdiest, you might wish that I had stayed home. You have been forwarned. ha.)
Anyways ... have I EVER left a short comment? I'm the same way in person! Eventually I get to my point. ha. What is my point? I love your pots, I'm glad you are well, and I am way excited about the prospect of getting together. TOTAL FUN.

p.s. OK. That should have read: I love your POSTS ... but I'm sure I would love your pots if I saw those too.

Shall we invite Brian Dennehy to tag along?

He might like to see your pots as well.

hee.

Now don't forget the blessing that ends
may you be in heaven an hour before the devil knows you're dead!
Such fun and Grace...what a beauty she is. I believe she may hail from County Cork...can't wait to see what you come up with on the handbag...my grandmother taught us to make bathslippers (for when you got out of the shower by simply sewing the two short ends together and then making a hem to insert elastic around the top...what fun...

Hi Sue,

What an amazing shop, Grace would have been so excited as would Jacqui! And choclate covered strawberries while you shop, you ladies really know how to shop in style! Yum! Love your Irish makeover here! Hubby has Irish in his heritage, here is a little Irish blessing from us to you :

An Irish Prayer
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Have a lovely Sunday Sue:)
Jenn and Jacqui
