My Little Spot In The World

I finally finished painting my little spot in the world...my tiny study. I changed the hue of the walls. It is now Laura Ashley Gold 3, purchased at Lowe's. I moved things around just a bit... okay. So Bill and Dan did most of the moving but I supervised. Okay. So Grace actually did most of the supervision while I sat out in the garage with my fingers poked in my ears so I would not hear any crashing, thudding or cursing. I love denial...it is a wonderful way to live you know. Hm.... I also added a chest that we rescued from a neighbor's garage. Now, I KNOW what you are thinking...from the GARAGE? Uh huh. It is OLD and has seen a few years but it has a history & is this sweet caramel color. Nice albeit a little on the shabby side, but I love it all the same. It has character, just like me...nicks, cracks, dings, rusty hinges and a few loose screws. Yep, JUST like me. A study should always have a place for a special friend to join you... I hope you are having a sweet week so far...I know that most of you are preparing for Thanksgiving. So get in that kitchen and peel those potatoes! Uh huh...right now...hmm...would you like me to send Brian over to help? He is pretty good with a potato peeler I hear. One more day until the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade! Yippee!
Love and hugs, Susie Q

Beautiful paint job, I love that shade of gold. It's very pretty with all your furniture. I like the chest from the neighbor's garage, it has a lot of character to it! Your dog is so sweet, what a cutie.

My daughter and I watch the Macy's parade as well, we really enjoy it.

Your study is charming, it looks so inviting and comfortable. It looks like the perfect place to wile away the afternoon with a good book and a cup of tea.

I love that color and I love how you are able to put things here and there to look so chic. It is a charming place and if your darling puppy feels at home there, well, enough said.

Oh this is so pretty! And warm. And cozy. I just love it when you show us your home.

Oh and btw, *could* you come over before the week after Christmas and help me pick out colors for our Front Room and Bedroom? I am going to have *kaniption fits* doing this planning I fear. I am sooooo badddddd with decorating decisions. Dread 'em!

Can't be this way now, since we have the painter coming! Eeeeek!

And you have such a lovely decorating touch, in your home. Betcha' you'd have such wonderful ideas for us.

-sighhhhhhh- Yeah, as if you could drop everything and go play "Susie Decorator" hu? :-)))) But wow, I bet you'd be in demand, if you ever wanted to!!!!!!!!!

Btw, we're thinking of a warm, peachy, coral, evening sky color for North facing Front Room. And a light sage for our South facing Bedroom. But... THEN WHAT DO WE DO?!?!?!?! lol!

Happy Thanksgiving,
Mari-Nanci

Dear, sweet Susie Q! What an absolute gorgeous study you've created. I just love every single little detail, from the pretty gold walls, to that chest you rescued (be still my heart, that is a wonderful piece), to the flirty chair with all those interesting fabrics, and that little sweet doggie, he's just adorable. What a perfect spot for a girl to hang out with her favorite things. I'm so glad I didn't miss this one!

Hugs & happy Thanksgiving to you!

It looks fabulous! We painted our living room Laura Ashley Cowslip - practically the same color. I go back and forth with liking it mostly because I don't like the furniture in the room (mostly hubby's from bachelor days - we need new stuff!) but now I am inspired by your color scheme!
Happy Thanksgiving.

Great job on the study. I love the color you selected. The puppy
even coordinates with the chair. The chest of drawers is a find! It adds character. Looks like you are all set for Thanksgiving in your next post. Hope you all have a happy turkey day!

It's absolutely lovely! Everything! Love the color, love, love, love the chest. It's a perfect spot to curl up and read a book, sip something hot, chat with a friend, or snuggle with the puppy. Did you save a spot for a Christmas tree? I bet one would look great against your new wall color.

I wish you a happy Thanksgiving.

Hugs sweet friend!

AACKKKKKKKKKKKKKK... the coziness! I'll be there at 8 after I finish ingesting all your turkey. The dog will have to move on out, though, as I'm placing my 6'1 ass in its place.

My goodness woman! I swear since you've been back blogging you are on a roll. If I miss one day I feel as if I've missed ten. I LOVE your new room color and the reorganization. The chest looks great...like it belongs there. Glad your Mom is feeling well enough to go the church. I WILL be back tomorrow....I'm afraid of missing something. Ciao for now!

Your wall color looks similar to the darkest color in my new living room wall color. It's nice and warm and cozy, yes?

I adore your loveseat and stuffed chair. Totalllllllly! I'm sure they'd fit in a wee little envelope if you want to just send them my way.

What? They don't fit? Bummer. Maybe I can do something with pillows that will be similar.
