This afternoon I put together some boxes of oh so good peanut brittle to take to our neighbor's. Let's just hope no one breaks a tooth. Law suits are such a nuisance this time of year. It tastes good, I swear and I even have a cute little bunny stamped on each tag. Rabbit Run Cottage and all....get it? Oh...I figured you did. Sorry. Um...need to have the kids deliver these tonight. I mean gee. It is too cold for ME to be out there isn't it?
The deer head needs something all purty don't you think? A red ribbon perhaps?
Okay...OKAY! I got the hint from some of you! I am waaay behind in posting our Christmas decorations. Well, I was late in getting it all done you know! Hmpf...so here is just a taste of what is here. Not that anything I do decor wise has taste. My rooms are not as elegant and beautiful as some of yours but heck. *I* myself am not as elegant and beautiful as some of you either. (I HEARD that! So I am not elegant and beautiful at all! Can we move on now?) So, for what it is worth, the cottage feels cheery and cozy and all Christmassy. Hmm? Why yes, that IS a word! I like that word. So there. I don't care what this lousy spellcheck says!
Christmassy...Christmassy...Christmassy!
A little here...
...a little there...
...a little over on that side...
...and some more on this side...
This is our New York City ornament in a place of honor...you all know how I like that little town just a teensy bit. Teensy. Bit.
Top 'o the hutch...snow people and that way cool banner made by blog world's own Becky!
Bottom 'o the hutch with stockings made for us by Bill's late Mom. There is another hanging on the china cabinet. She finished Grace's just before she became ill so it is a real treasure.
Foyer...foy-a...foy-eh? Foy-er? Nah. We t'ain't that formal. It's the too small, crowded place where you come in from the cold and tramp snow all over the floor. Please forgive any cat toy mice you see on the floor. Henry is just awful at photo styling. He was fired after this assignment.
Don't worry. I offered him a stellar severance package.
Oh, and yes. I DO wish that hardwood ran under that study and into the dining room. My husband was too frugal (A fancy word for cheap!) to do it then. He said we would do it later. I am not holding my breath. I did but I passed out and started breathing again but that is a whole 'nother story.
See my little penguin? I LOVE my little penguin. He is holding a sign that says "Let It Snow". Every proper home needs a penguin holding a sign don'tcha know. Ms. Martha S. herself has a penguin holding a sign in her house. Okay, I made that part up but she SHOULD!
More later but I need to run and finish painting the Diva's room! Dark, hot pink does not go on easly and smoothly! But it will be so divalicious when it is finished!
Love to each one of you...I hope your week is going well. Each one of you is in my heart!
Love and Hugs,
Susie Q

What a beautiful job you've done decorating your home. How I wish I lived by you so that I could have some of that peanut brittle. That's being a nice neighbor.
Beautiful home Susie! I love all your cute snowmen and the special touches you have everywhere!
Oh my sweet little cherub, it is all sooooo delightful!! I notice the portrait above the mantel with some "little angels" in it! I think my post on the "PINK" house is coming up today or tomorrow so stop by and see the latest! I live in a "confectionery store" now, chickee!! I'm so happy I could just spit!! ;-)
Smooches and Merry Christmas,
Connie
i for one LOVE your decorations! and elegant is nice, but yours are amazing! i wish i was a neighbor of rabbit run cottage to see it all in person!
Your house and the decorations are just the best! I love a warm cozy atmosphere and you really have it going on, sistah.
I thought you might like this bit of history info:
Today's Highlight in History: On Dec. 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright of Dayton, Ohio, conducted the first successful manned powered-airplane flights, near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, using their experimental craft, the Wright Flyer.
There you have it, girl! Now you can have a good day!
Christmas blessings,
Cheryl

I always enjoy seeing pictures of your cozy home. Everything is so warm & inviting......peanut brittle, yum, Happy Holidays, DebraK
I have loved your home since RMS days, and we have not had a glimpse of it for so long. Great touches everywhere. That snowlady with the tutu still makes me giggle. Sally
Hi Susie! Your home looks beautiful and your posts are always fun to read! Love all your special touches especially your mantel and that cute snowperson (ballerina?) under the cloche! Actually on one of the home tours someone had several deer heads/antlers and she put little red bows on the ends of the antlers - looked cute.
Manuela
Gorgeous!! Susie your home is just beautiful, cozy, and soooo inviting. I love that portrait above your mantel. Thanks for your precious comment!! xoxo
Hi, Susie Q, I'm still laughing at your post! You're my kind of person! And I think the deer head will look very festive with a red bow on one of its antlers. Thanks for sharing your decorations. Your home looks so cozy and sweet. And if you have any extra peanut brittle, you can send it my way....I don't know any good lawyers and it's just too much trouble to file a law suit this time of year anyway. Have a great day!!!
I love the Christmas coziness of your home Susie Q! I can smell the cookies baking and feel the glow of the holiday lights right through blogland!
I know I am supposed to be taking a blog break through Christmas, but I had to pop in and wish you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Love,
Penny
It's all gorgeous, but I really love that hurricane with the snow faery in it. My family will be moving in shortly. :)
What a perfect way to send out Christmas cheer and let everyone know it's from you. Now they can trace it if they break a tooth. :) Just teasing! *Running from the shoe being tossed at my head* Seriously, I think that is so darling with your little rabbit tag and the snowman ribbon tied around it. My first experience with peanut brittle? Oooo! Let's not go there. Let's just say, pot of carmelized syrup cooling too fast, adding peanuts ... spoon and peanuts turned into brittle sculpture. :)
And, oh my, how lovely is your house? How can anyone NOT be cozy there? Haven't seen the Kipper dude in a while. How's he doing? Has he been a good boy? Is Santa visiting him this year?
Susie, the stockings your MIL made are just beautiful and I'm glad she got to make Grace one. I know it has to be special because it was made with love.
Thanks for always sharing of yourself with us. xxoo
Who says you can't decorate??? I love your place. It's beautiful. Will you come decorate my house? By the way, are you sending out some of that neatly boxed, cute tagged, bowed peanut brittle that sounds absolutely scrumptious to all of us rabbit visitors. ;)
You have such a talent for writing. You always put a smile on my face and give me the giggles. Such a sweet woman are you! Thanks for sharing.
I love your home. I love the mantle and the ice skates on the railing. I love the cat toys. I love the snowmen and the red. Your deer needs some bells around his neck, is all!
Beautiful pictures! I love your decorations. Even more, I love your posts. I can always find a smile here.
Oh my gosh. GIRL!!!!
Your home is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO beautiful.
I just LOVE your ideas and your decorations.
You are truly a gifted decorator. An arTEEST of the finest type.
And your writing style still knocks my socks off. "A stellar severance package!" ROFLMBO!!!!
You are too funny, my friend.
Merry Christmas!
Love love love!
Wendy
Hey Susie Q I love all the Christmas pretties all around your home. And how sweet of you to send out some peanut brittle to your neighbors. Hubby would love to have some, to bad we don't live close. lol
Have a great week

For a lady with no taste you sure do a bang up job decorating the old homestead. It looks truly lovely!
Girl your home is beautiful. I sure would love to be your neighbor.Tell the kids to ride on down here to South Mississippi=)
Oh, decorations are lovely! I especially am fond of your pig chef! Too cute!
beautiful! i'm gonna live vicariously thorough your decorations - a)i don't have it in me this year and b)we never seem to decorate when we go to Reno for Christmas. *sigh*
your house looks terrific and who says your not elegant and beautiful....I have that same pig!! Something else we have in common....but I hope nobody sues me over my candy....
Hey! You've got cloches! Did I spell that right? I don't have those, so that makes your house more elegant than mine, but then mine is not elegant anyway. I also wanted to thank you for your visit and the birthday wishes. All the nice comments really made my day!
I just love it all! Soooo cheery. Love the cloches. cherry
Everything looks beautiful!!! Your home is wonderful!!! Your peanut brittle is probably wonderful too but I can't really comment on it since I didn't get any :-( (sad face)
Love and Hugs, Andi
