Veteran's Day

Today and every day I pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have bravely worn the uniform of the United States of America. From the fields and forests of war-torn Europe to the jungles of Southeast Asia, from the deserts of Iraq to the mountains of Afghanistan, brave men and women have protected our Nation's ideals, rescued millions from tyranny and oppression, and helped spread freedom around the world.
America is forever indebted to each of our veterans for their courage and service. I am also remembering those who laid down their lives in freedom's defense. These brave souls made the ultimate sacrifice for our benefit and for that of our Nation. On Veterans Day, and every day, we remember these heroes for their valor, their loyalty, and their dedication to their country. I am remembering those veterans in my own family as well...my maternal Grandfather fought in France during World War I. My Father fought in the Pacific during World War II. My Father in Law served in both Korea and Vietnam. My husband served this country for just over 27 years and retired in 2006 as a Navy Commander. May each of us take a moment today to remember those who have served this nation with honor, with dignity and with pride. God Bless them all. ~Much love, Susie Q

God bless them all indeed! I am sure none of us who have not been to war can fully appreciate the horrors the men and women who have fought for us endured. I am forever grateful for their brave service.

Touching post! My dad is a Korean vet and my uncle is a Viet Nam vet. My FIL served in WWII and my maternal GP in WW1. All have memories that would make our stomaches curl. I am glad you are back!

Hi Susie, So glad you stopped by. Your post yesterday was so nice. I read some fabulous and very moving stories about our veterans through out blogland. Things that happen that no one on this earth should have to endure. Looking at your Halloween photos....Grace is growing up fast. She's so pretty.
