~ Remembered~
Written by Sue Combs
None will forget this infamous day. Whether young one or old, we will each find a way...to remember the loss & each brave helping hand , the true loving spirit that spread through our land. Yes, evil was present that day in 'o1 but so was the presence of God's only Son. He lived in the hearts of those who rushed in, who cared not for self but for their human kin. There is no greater love than one life lost for another, they cared not for self but for each human brother. Yes, evil was present that day in '01, but so was the presence of God's only son.
The oath that they took, to protect and serve, was never more honored,
it took guts, it took nerve. It took strength of heart, a brave, caring soul.
For each rescuer lost a bell must now toll...
Yes, evil was present that day in '01, but so was the presence of God's only son.
Dedicated to the members of the NYC police department, Port Authority , fire department and other first responders who gave their lives so others could go home to their families. There is no greater love.

Lovely. I take heart in knowing that so many of my blogging friends remember this day in history with such reverence. So many others in our great country seem to have forgotten.

I remember that day well, sweetpea. I wish to thank all the military troops who are protecting my freedom and my country's freedom, all the firefighters and all the police who make this the best and most blessed country on the face of this earth. It is a GOD BLESSED country! Thanks for the post, little rabbit chick,
Connie
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Such a beautiful poem, Sue, and a very nice tribute/remembrance on this day.
I was just thinking yesterday about all the lovely poems you used to write! You have such a talent for it.
Love to you.
Thanks Susie, that was beautiful. I did a 9/11 post as well. I remember that day so well, it could have been yesterday. I know exactly where I was and what I was doing that day and how my mouth just hung open in disbelief when the news interrupted the programming that day. xxoo
What a great tribute Sue. I'll never forget that day for as long as I live. I was here in Missouri, terrified out of my mind. I cannot even begin to imagine what all of those people were going through that day in NYC. They are all more than just heroes!!!
Amen.

This is such a lovely tribute for such a "shattering" day! I will never forget...nor should any of us! Too many gave up so much that day and many more continue to "give" for all of us to experience freedom within our own borders!!...Thanks for such a lovely remembrance!
Blessings...
