Eye Candy

We had to run a few errands today and stopped in one of our favorite stores, Dorothy Lane Market. They have the most wonderful, delectable goodies and the sweetest bakery department in town. On Saturdays there are samples galore and Grace had a ball. The store employees were tickled that this young girl tried everything! She loved the veggies and fruit, the juices, the cheeses and the tiny samples of their specialty sandwiches. Oh so good. Of course there were samples of some wonderful baked goods. Oh the chocolate! Why, even the olives look like a work of art! Is there anything in nature more colorful than peppers? The lovely Spring flower arrangements were a breath of fresh air on a cold Winter's day. When we had finished our errands, we decided to have lunch at one of our favorite places, Christopher's. Grace, Mom and I each had their tomato and chicken salad plate and oh how good it was. Bill said the BBQ sandwich was Heaven on a bun! When we arrived home, 2 boxes were waiting on me. The first box contained my 3rd order from sweet Kathy at Hens N Daisies. Kathy even included one of her dear Easter tags. Isn't this one beautiful? I have two other hearts from Kathy and am awaiting another! I adore them! Kathy's things are a delight, as is she! The second box had the most precious painting from Donna at Donna's Art. Isn't this nest painting wonderful? Thank you Donna! I love it! I hope to purchase more of her lovely work in the future! I purchased these two Spode plates recently and have placed them at opposite ends of the mantel. (See Barbara? I spelled it correctly!!) They keep the Staffordshire dogs company there. I love playing with my mantel...changing it seasonally or on a whim. And this is a little thrift shop purchase. I fell in love with it and had to give it a proper home...well as proper as my home ever gets. Ahem. Just a sweet little pin dish and, for only $1, how could I go wrong! We are going to run by our favorite Chinese place for take out this evening, then head to my buddy *T*'s for dinner and a movie. Tonight we will be watching "Michael Clayton". I have not seen as many of the Oscar nod films this year so look forward to this one. I hope your weekend is sweet. The sun is shining here for the first time in a week...it just looks *happy* outside! Do something good for YOU and remember to smile as often as you can. You are all a blessing to me.
Love and Hugs, Susie Q

I just love a market like that! If I had one near my home I fear my grocery budget would be ruined, but oh the food I would cook. Enjoy your Chinese foo and I was thinking of watching Michael Clayton "On Demand" tonight.

Those turtles are adorable, I would hate to eat them they are so cute!

The flowers are just gorgeous, something that cheered up my dreary evening, though like you said the sun was shining today for the first time in a long time. Something to be thankful for.

Dorothy Lane Market! It has been a long time since I heard that name! I remember that market! What a wonderful place to shop.

We have Stauffers of Kissel Hill out here who do the same thing. They put out all kinds of samples for people to taste. It is a shopping experience, for sure!

It sounds like you have had a wonderful day! It does a person good to get out and about.

Wishing for sunshine!

What scrumptious goodies from Dorothy Lane's. I can practically taste them from here. What lovely purchases...very nice! Let us know how you like the movie...I haven't seen it either. It seems when Oscar night rolls around, I've seen very few of the movies.

Ha, ha...the turtles really look like turtles! I would almost hate to eat one, they are so cute!
I loved Gerbera Daisies, too. I'm going to try to get myself a few potted ones. Did you know they clear the air of icky stuff like formaldehyde and benzene, which are found in many household items? (And cause headaches!)
My daughter calls Gerberas "Happy Flowers"!
