Old, Outdated?

Uh huh...that's me!

 Well, me and perhaps my decor as well.

Am I the only living, breathing lady left in bloggy world

who still likes brass?

This is a photo of my entry way. I took this yesterday and yes. I still have a brass 

light fixture and brass door accents. I love brass! Always have, still do!

Oh, and guess what? I still love oak! Yikes right?

I have had to come to the cold. hard fact that I am a teensy

 out of step, out dated and just plain old but proud of it!

Now, am I the ONLY one left?

Spring?

The calendar says it's Spring but one peek out of my 

door and it looks anything but!

But you know? I love snow...love the 

sweet quiet of a school snow day with Grace.

Love the twinkling fairy tale world Mother Nature painted...

But inside Grace and I are preparing for Spring by decorating 

for Easter!

Rabbits abound here at the cottage...

We went outside and snipped a few branches...

...then put some pretty felt pieces through Grace's die cut machine...

...added a tiny thread to each one and,

Presto! Sweet little birds flying into Spring!

Hoping that Spring is flying into your neck of the woods soon!

Decking The Halls

I have been doing a little decking of the halls...oh,

and the dining room, the family room, the living room...

Every well decorated home needs a Santa Bunny right?

Bill brought this hand made rug back for me from Turkey.

Bill got this for me last week!

One of the first ornaments our Daniel made for our tree.

This is an ornament that my folk's bank in Tennessee made long ago...

I had gone in with my Daddy and they snapped this photo and gave it to us!

It makes me smile!

Just a little walk through the house this morning...

I sure hope your holiday plans are  taking shape

and that you are enjoying all the wonderful delights

the Christmas season brings!

Doors

I must admit I have a thing for old doors. I love to think about how many people

have used them, turned their handles/knobs and passed through their

shadows to "come home".

I have one on my back deck that I found on the side of the road.

Grace and I hauled it home and gave it a place of honor complete

with a wreath of pretty red geraniums.

I have yet to do something with it as creative as these folk did...

but what wonderful ideas!

A Fall Fluff

It is always such fun to begin the annual Fall Fluff isn't it?

Getting the front porch ready to greet each visitor...

Pumpkins, hedge apples, mini pumpkins and dried gourds.

And even Frank the Scarecrow is delighted to be of use once again..guarding 

a pretty pot of mums!!

Then it's inside to fluff a bit as well. The mantle needed some Autumn themed goodies...

Here is a closer look at the little cast iron squirrel under an cloche. He even has his very own acorn!

Swap out some fabric and accessories for a more Fall like feel...and yes.

 Henry is also very Autumn colored don't you think?

Our foyer with a few Autumn fabrics and decor added...burgundy plaid Wellies are a must!

Oh, the  darker areas you see on the walls are where I am beginning to try my hand at faux peeling plaster.

I am slow but hopefully it will be done before Winter's end! *grin* Either that or we call the painters back who just finished the outside of our house!

The dining room table got fluffed as well...corn, mini pumpkins, 

wooden fruit and pumpkins and bittersweet.

A few more areas to finish and then we will be adding some Halloween fun as well.
