This, That And The Other Thing

Edited to add: The dear little puppy, Nala, is an
Old English Sheepdog. Yes, she is gonna be huge!
These 2 beauties greeted me when I returned home today
What a bad, bad blogger I have been of late. Yes I have...I KNOW it. I have been neglectful in my posting and not visiting everyone as I so love to do. I have been by to see everyone but don't always leave a comment. I know...bad, bad blogger! See? I TOLD you. On that note, I recently heard from a blog friend that someone she has visited for awhile now was chastising people who do not leave comments. I actually saw something like that not too long ago myself. It was on a blog that was new to me, I visited and was taken aback by the writer's, "Any visitor here, who does not leave a comment, is a total loser!" Wow. That is one way to scare off any prospective blog visits! Why blog at all if the ONLY thing you care about is whether or not people leave a comment? Blog for the sheer fun of it, for your own enjoyment and if, IF others find something useful in what you publish, well, that is the delicious frosting on top!
That said, I LOVE comments. We all do right? Of course! It is a joy to hear from our friends both old and new. But we all have lives that keep us busy...it is not always convenient to read posts AND leave a comment. As much as I adore getting a note from all of you, I completely understand when you can't. I do hope that all of you will continue to visit me here, and that you will find something to make you smile from time to time.
The week of Valentine's Day was a busy one. I had several meetings to attend, volunteer duties,
a school party to help with, a little party here at Rabbit Run to get ready for and enjoy...well, let's just say it was hectic but oh so much fun. Grace loves having a little party and we asked a few friends who are so dear to us to share a little Valentine fun with us!
We received a package of sweet surprises that week...and upon opening the box, you all probably heard Grace's squeals of delight! That girl can scream with the best of 'em!
My dear blog friend (and if you do not yet know Sue, do yourself a favor and hop one over to visit! She is glorious!) Sue at Rue-Mouffetard
sent us Valentine goodies galore!
The Diva and I spent part of that week baking cookies using all the fun things Sue sent our girl.
And believe me, anything pink wins my girl's heart straight away!
Sue also included a book for me...she and I are both fans of the old film, "Since You Went Away" with Claudette Colbert, Jennifer Jones. Joseph Cotten, Shirley Temple and Monty Woolley.
Sue owned two copies of the book on which the film is based and you can imagine how tickled and moved I was to receive a copy from her. The book is a series of letters that "Anne" writes to her husband who is at sea during WW II. I have been reading a letter a night, just before I go to bed. I have enjoyed this immensely and can't thank Sue enough for these gifts.
Oh and Sue and I are in agreement..when they do a remake of "Since You Went Away", Brian will definitely play the Monty Woolley role! Who else?

Last week was also tax time for the folks from Rabbit Run Cottage! Here is my darlin' husband getting ready to undergo our

"procedure"! Aw gee Bill! Why d'ya look so scared??

This little angel is Nala and she is 6 weeks old! Nala came to live with our friends on Saturday. I saw her for the first time today and fell in love!

I wish you all a sweet week and that many happy smiles come your way!
Love and Hugs,
Susie Q

Hi Susie,
I have been a bad blogger lately too. So much going on.
Anyway, looks like a fun sweet Valentine's Day!
That puppy is the sweetest!
Visit soon,
Rosemary

You know Suze, we can't all be perfect bloggers, lol...we'd be awfully boring. And there is no excuse for rudeness. I love Grace's package! Wow...I'll bet those were some good cookies! That puppy is precious! But then I'm a sucker for animals!

Though I love to get comments, it's not the be all end all for me. I just love writing these crazy posts we all do. Comments are the icing on the cake. Anyone who is 'emotionally forcing' comments out of readers is sorta ... barking up the wrong tree. Great post.

First of all....I am in LOVE with Nala! She is adorable. Second of all, I love when you visit me and leave a comment. And I love visiting you too! But we all have lives and you just can't visit everyone....and leave comments everywhere!

That said, you just might want to stop by my blog in the next day or two - lol. I am having a mosaic giveaway and it ends Feb 28th...
Hugs,
Penny

I, too, sometimes visit and don't leave a comment. You know, if we spent all of our time reading blogs and commenting; we wouldn't have any other time to live life, and therefore have nothing to post about. We know there is so much more to life than blogging (even though we enjoy it so much)!!! Have a great week, Sue. Sally

Wow! I've never run across a blog that read like that one. If I had, I'd surely have something to say.

Oh, how pretty the things that Grace received. I know she had a blast making cookies and things. And I know how much she loves pink as she's a girly-girl after all. :)

How cute is that puppy! Kipper, dude, you're still my guy, don't worry. xxoo

Hi Sue...I can't believe a blogger said your a loser for not leaving a comment...it really takes time to visit everyone, read the blog then comment...It could take up your whole day...I have a handful of blogs I visit everyday and the others I try to go on once a week...I hope Grace enjoyed the pink stuff...thought it would be a Mom daughter bonding experiance....and I'm glad your enjoying the book...Sue.

Hello Susie Q. What a bountiful bevy of gorgeous pinkness. How sweet of her to send such delights. The book sounds like a good one. I so agree with you about leaving comments, I blog for my sanity, lol and if some of you leave me a comment well that is so special.. Love your posts.

I often visit, but don't have time to leave comments. I blog for the pleasure of it, and comments are a bonus. Your goodie package is lovely, and that puppy...!
Too cute.

Hi Susie, Sometimes I am guilty as charged. I don't always leave a comment and I don't always expect one in return. I'm just shocked that anyone returns after reading anything that I have to say. I bet you had a fun week baking away with all those goodies. I could go for a cookie right now. And I must say, that pup has the sweetest face! ~ Robyn

What a cute puppy! I love puppies, but they are a lot of work; it's like having a naked 2-year old child running in your home, carrying a pair of scissors!

I am always amazed when someone leaves a comment on my blog, and very grateful. Certainly don't expect them to, in fact I am surprised when someone reads it at all!

Lovely surprise package you got. I am going to have to find that movie. (Love Monty Wooley.)

So good to see all the great things going on in your life!!! How FUN is that package you received and I can imagine how fun it was to make Valentine cookies. Of course, I love to bake and any holiday just makes it even better! :-)

Tax time. Ugh...we haven't begun ours, but I guess we should soon. :-(

Good morning! I think you do a fine job. YOU ARE LIVING A LIFE! We just get to hear about it from time to time, and that is just fine!

The puppy is soooo cute.

Did I tell you we are probably heading to the beach for vacation? BOo hoo.

Sometimes it's just hard to keep up with blogs and visiting. I'm sure everyone completely understands. I know I'm a bad blogger from time to time. And little Nala...OH MY what a bundle of beauty she is!

Hey Sue! I've been a negligent blogger also recently. I find my time runs in spurts...sometimes I have lots of time to blog, and other times no time at all. Go figure! Anyway, it's nice to know I'm in such good company. That is one cute puppy!

Hello dear Sue:-)

If I was to visit everyone and comment every day, I'd be at my computer doing just that 24 hours a day!!! Since I can't do that, because I do have a LIFE (lol)then if that makes me a bad blogger, so be it:-) When I don't have time to comment, I just read the posts to make sure everyone is ok and there are some days I don't even have time to read any. Blogging is supposed to be FUN and not take over our whole life!!

Ooooh what a delightful Valentine parcel you received from Sue! Who doesn't love pink!!!

Poor Bill, he certainly does look worried about his tax returns!! lol As for the pup, omigosh, how adorable and I love the name!! Love ya! xoxo

Aww, seeing that puppy makes me want one!

Nevermind. I just remembered what puppies do after you feed them - and that I'd be the one taking it outside to take care of business!
