Having An A'Fair...

...at our city's annual World A'Fair! This wonderful festival is a celebration of diversity that showcases the food, dancing, music, costumes, and cultural exhibits representing the ethnic backgrounds and cultures of Dayton and the greater Miami Valley! You can travel the world, all under one roof, in just an afternoon! How can you beat that?

We look forward to this event each year and never fail to enjoy ourselves immensely! This year was no exception! I wanted to share some of the photos I took...but so wish I could share with you the tastes and smells of the delicious food, the sounds of each nation's songs being played on all manner of instruments...

Each year has a special theme and, for 2011, it was
Wedding Traditions Around the World.

Here is our Gracie, with her friend Molly, visiting with the Chinese bride and groom!
The dancers always wear such beautiful native costumes!

The people we meet are such a joy...
...no matter from which part of the world they (or their ancestors) hail!
The food is always a treat!
You will find such delights as apple flappen from The Netherlands,
fried banana from the Philippines, Greek gyros, Irish pub fries and Lebanese falafel!

Delicious food and pastries from India, Thailand, Peru, Ireland, Germany, China and on and on...
Yummy!

And the music always gets every toe tapping!

Thank you for sharing this memorable day with us! Does your city have such an event?
If so, I would love to hear about it!
