Falling Into Woodland

A dear friend recently called and asked a few of us to take a tour of Woodland Cemetery with her. It was absolutely the perfect Autumn day! The skies were so blue, the air cool and crisp, the trees glowing in all their Fall splendor.
Woodland is on of Dayton's treasures. Truly a place of beauty, it is also rich in history.
Of course, it is a quiet place of eternal rest for so many as well.
Among those buried here are the poet Paul Laurence Dunbar, inventors Orville and Wilbur Wright, comedian and actor Jonathan Winters and writer and humorist Erma Bombeck.

Thank you for sharing this tour with me...it is such a special place
and it is never more beautiful than in the Autumn.

Love to you all!

What an inspiring space to enjoy autumn and its glory. I would love to see Erma Bombeck's grave. Back in the dark ages when I was a new bride and mother, she taught us to laugh at ourselves and enjoy life. Hope you enjoy the weekend. Sally

Gorgeous...gorgeous...gorgeous! Isn't it amazing the beauty surrounds us with. I posted pics of our sunset last night and some deer in my neighbors yard. I love October.

Hugs sweet friend,
Kat

Do you know I've never been there? We've gone past it a few times, but never stopped. I would like to walk the grounds and look for the headstones of a few famous Daytonians. I think Agnes Moorehead is there, isn't she? Maybe we can get there before all the leaves are gone. Such pretty photos, as always! Give me a ring! xo Sue

Hi pretty lady!
What a lovely place to visit. Beautiful trees. I loved Erma Bombeck. I still have her book..If Life is a Bowl of Cherries, Then What am I Doing in the Pits. Such an adorable read from a very wise lady.

Thanks for sharing!
Deanna :D
