Leprechaun Shenanigans

Leprechaun shenanigans were afoot near my town Tuesday night! A house not too very far from Rabbit Run Cottage has long treated the community to a little holiday *rock* festivity! Each season and holiday a group of stones receive their finery and bring a smile to the face of each passerby.
But in the wee hours of St. Patrick's Day eve, a naughty leprechaun, or gaggle of leprechauns,
played an evil trick on the happy home's residents. They awoke Wednesday morn to discover their stones had been beheaded!
Yesterday the home owners crafted this sign and placed it where
the sweet stone faces once sat... No word yet on whether or not a ransom is being offered!

The same thing happened at Stonehenge that prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire. At one time the stones had heads. I bet you didn't know that. Note the absence of heads today.

According to legend the Stonehenge heads at one time many centuries ago were adorned with colorful ornaments and shiny bangles and beads to compliment the season of the year or whatever pagan holiday it was.

Then one day when people showed up at Stonehenge to say their morning pagan prayers, they discovered that all the heads were gone. Not one remained. And none were in sight. People searched the county high and low for the heads, but to no avail. Oh, the wailing and the gnashing of teeth that went on after that.

I'm surprised that this account of the missing Stonehenge heads is not included in the Wikipedia artcle about Stonehenge. Mm! Makes you wonder if you can really rely on Wikipedia for all the facts.

I suspect the same culprits are involved in both cases; Stonehenge and your neighbor's clever *rock* collection. I only hope after all these centuries the gaggle of little guys are finally brought to justice. The world will be a lot safer place when that day comes.

Lisa, the story about Stonehenge is a bunch of baloney made up by a woman (me) who had nothing better to do with her time tonight. :-)

Awwwww who would do that to a poor innocent rock! I hope they catch the thieves and steal THEIR HEADS!

Shame on the pranksters that beheaded the rockers. I see this so much in the 'big harsh' city. Is nothing sacred anymore? *hanging my head* xxoo

There is just nothing so awful as a headless rock! I hope you can track down that senseless head stealing at once so that your neighborhood will again be able to live in peace.

What a shame.....have they no respect????? And you....I love the story about stonehedge. I was really believing it, too. I still think you should write books. I hope your neighbors find their "heads"

Beware of headhunters...!
I would like to think it was a prank and meant in fun.
But having had various things taken from our porch over the years I don't expect they will be returned any time soon.
