Welcome February!

These sweet robins wanted to welcome in the month of February! Now, they might be a wee bit early for Spring's arrival but aren't they a cheery sight of what will be? The trees near our church were full of these dear creatures yesterday...their precious songs filled  air. What a wonderful way to say farewell to January and hello to the month of romance!

I hope you are all well and that your February will be one chock full of happy moments!

Fall Fluffing

Just a little peek...a teensy, weensy look see into what I have been up to all week. Oh gosh but I love Fall. And I love Fall decorating! *sigh*
Do you see that gorgeous painted tray? Perfect for this season isn't it? I got it from sweet Robin at Bittersweet Punkin! She has oodles of goodies and when I saw this sweet thing I practically squealed with delight! Okay, so I DID squeal but I am embarrassed by that fact. But hey, wouldn't you? It is wonderful! And so is Robin! She included the sweetest handmade rose hair pins for Gracie! Now isn't that a dear thing to do? Thank you Robin!
More photos to come...
I am so excited that Fall has finally arrived!

Questions, Questions And Even More Questions...

...but first! Feathers are sprouting! Adorable little feathers! I am ever so glad that Mama Robin (whom Grace has named "Bunny") is noisy. I had only been home for a few minutes and I heard a bird making all sorts of racket. I thought of the babies and ran (Yeah, yeah...hobbled okay!) to open the front door. There stood a HUGE orange tabby cat. I have never seen him before but I hope we properly introduced ourselves today...as in, do NOT come back and bother MY birds or this wild, barking dog will get you! He seemed genuinely afraid of Kipper so let's hope that is enough to discourage him. We have removed everything from the porch so there is nothing for him to climb on. I am a mess worrying about these tiny wonders. Now, my OWN kitties are ever so fascinated with the Mama but she seems to understand they pose no threat to her or her little ones. Stay well Groucho, Harpp, Chico and Zeppo.

New Life

We have visitors at Rabbit Run Cottage! Ms. Bunny (So named by Miss Grace) Robin has made the sweetest nest in my front door basket. There, nestled among the silk forsythia and greenery is her new home and 5 perfect little eggs. Of course this means that I am worrying about them and obsessing over whether or not we will have 5 tiny baby robins soon. Some of you may remember that a dove (whom we named Madeline) hatched 4 little ones in this same basket 2 years ago. Sadly, a neighbor's cat paid a visit one night and we lost all but one. My fingers are crossed that these 5 escape a similar fate!
