A Summer Girlfriend Getaway

A few weeks ago 3 of my oldest friends and I took a little
trip to The Great Smoky Mountains, Cherokee,
North Carolina and Asheville, North Carolina.
We had the best time!
The photo above was taken from our hotel room window...
what a treat to wake up to this view every day!

The drive in to Biltmore Estate in Asheville.

If you have yet to go, and have the chance, GO!
It is just gorgeous!

We all brought home a few bottles...it was so good!

I love few places more than the Great Smoky Mountains...they have
been such an integral part of my life. My Dad was born near here, I spent
so much of my growing up years here and I met Bill here. And they
are just beautiful. Truly beautiful.

Such a rich and beautiful history.

We stayed here, at Harrah's Cherokee Grand...

We did a *little* gambling true but mostly we laughed and talked
and laughed and talked some more.
And we are already planning our next girlfriend getaway...

Hoping your Summer has been wonderful and that your
Labor Day weekend will be safe and happy!

Warmly,
Susie Q

When we lived in Knoxville, we often talked about going to the Biltmore or Harrahs but never made it. Now that we're in Alabama, it seems less likely but who knows. I'd love to go to the Biltmore at Christmas time and see all the lights. Glad you had a good trip with your girlfriends! xx

As always, your pictures are wonderful. Looks like a lot of fun! I haven't been on a girlfriend's trip for a long time. Most of my friends are attached to RETIRED husbands - it gets harder to get away. I did most of my girlfriend traveling between the time my kids became more independent and the time Bob retired. Have a good weekend - I'm sure you have something planned!! Sally
