Where Does The Time Go?

I know, I know! I have been a horrifically bad blogger! Even though I know you all understand, I still feel guilty when so much time passes and I neglect  to post, and even worse, don't leave comments on YOUR blogs as I should! I humbly apologize! But Summer is always such a whirlwind of activity, I am sure it is like that for all of you too! I often stop for a moment, take a breath (or, as is often the case, a GASP!) and wonder, "Were does the time go?"

Grace has been busy with Summer School, Summer Strings Camp, sleep overs, art activities,
you name it! We have also enjoyed a few visits from out of town friends!
During one of those visits, our friend from Tennessee, me and another dear friend visited the Basically British Tea Room in downtown Dayton. You may remember when I posted about this special place last Fall! 2 of my dearest friends treated me to afternoon tea on my birthday!
If you are ever in the area, this is a must do!

We were also visited by two of our adoption group friends!
They live in St. Louis and we love seeing them every chance we get!

It does not seem possible that these two sweethearts have grown so! Ginny is now the same age as Grace was when all of us were in China! It has been almost 6 years...wow. All together now..."Where does the time go?"
And being silly is something they do oh so well!
As do Ginny's Mom and Grace's Daddy!
Grace's Summer Strings class had a recital this week. It is always a joy to
listen to these young people play!
Grace's Summer instructors!
One of Grace's sweet friends...these girls have been through
elementary school together, been in orchestra together and were even on the same softball team!
This week we went to visit friends who live in the prettiest surroundings.
Isn't their home just beautiful?

We had a delicious lunch here, near the Miami River.

On the way home we passed this wonderful old school house that has been
converted into a family home.

See how what they have done with trees that have died on their property?
There were several totem poles and this welcoming black bear to greet us!

Grace adores their sweet doggie...

And kitty!

And we all adored the delicious pineapple upside down cake they baked! Yum!
Being here, with such beloved friends, is a treat!

Then it was off to another oh so good afternoon tea! This time it was at Central Perc in Oakwood, Ohio.

Tea is never complete without scones covered in jam and clotted cream! *sigh*

You must have British decor during tea right?

We were celebrating the birthday of one of my friends. Sharing the day with her, Grace and another
of my friends was so special. I adore them both and cherish their friendship!

Just trying to catch up on a bit of posting...Summer is always so sweet but it doesn't leave much time for online fun. I send each of you love and many hugs and will be by to peek into your Summer activities soon...stay well and safe!

Do you ever slow down? But I know how you feel - at this important time in your family, you don't want to miss a thing!! We had been married 10 years when our first was born, so I was an OLDER Mom than their friend's. But, boy, was I determined not to miss an occasion. Keep at it, and post when you can. It's always fun to hear from you. Have a glorious 4th. Sally

I'll make it down to Basically
British one of these days. I'm sure it will put Central Perc to shame. So much more atmosphere at that downtown building. Busy busy you. We can go up to Troy whenever you want. I still have to pick up 2 more chairs from "Marge."

You are a most busy lady. I do,however, try to keep up with you on FB. I really love where you live...so much to do. I think that's what I miss most about up living up north... the variety and different cultures. Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places, lol.

You have an awful lot of fun places to visit -- but I fell in love with the tea room. Really need a good shelf like that in my kitchen to display my teapots -- they all look so cheery there!

Happy Fourth of July!

I love tea rooms! There was a very nice British one in Mt Dora that Alan and I loved to visit. I've also had tea at the Grand Floridian at Disney World. It is also very British, but also a bit expensive so I don't go there often. Loved the photos. Have a wonderful 4th, my friend!

Grace is growing before our very eyes! Give her a hug from me...and George too.

Hugs sweet friend,

I've never tried clotted cream. at least as far as I know.

Really enjoyed all the photos -- and was thinking it was about time for me to make a pineapple upside down cake. I haven't done that in years. years.
