Afternoon Light

Mom and I attended a Christmas Luncheon for the county's retired teachers. It was a lovely event and very well attended despite the additional 2 inches of snow we got overnight. The hall was lovely, the food quite good and the entertainment was delightful! The local school for the performing arts sent their award winning bell choir and oh what sweet music. It is always nice to go to such things with my mother. My mother taught school in this county for 32 years before retiring. I have gone with her often enough that they warmly greet this former pre-K/sometime substitute teacher like a fellow comrade in career educating! I got to visit with some of *my* teachers too. My second grade teacher, 6th grade and 2 from High School. That is always fun. My had they changed...of course *I* have not changed a bit. Nope. Not.a.bit.
