Catching Up? Me?

Okay, so even if I started immediately, I could never really catch up now could I? I am trying to be a better blog friend and visit you all if even for just a few minutes. It seems as if everyone is ready for Spring and counting the days until it's arrival! Our weather has warmed and the sun felt so good today...even Kipper enjoyed it. he wanted to just lie on the grass instead of doing what we went outside to do! Ahem. Speaking of Kipper, he wants to thank you all (I do too!) who voted for him. He wants to say hello to all of your dogs and cats *waving to Max, Susie Q's collie* and thanking them too. After all, they let you vote for HIM! He is honored and as humble as a little dog can be.
It is a busy week with so much to do in preparation for Grace's 11th birthday AND my nephew Boo's 6th birthday! Yes, they share the same day! There will be a party for Grace on Friday evening and one for Boo on Saturday morning. Nothing fancy but fun and happy never the less.
W are having a family dinner for Grace at one of her favorite places (Her decision) and dessert here at home. Her BFF will share in it with us and also stay here for the night so the two can giggle well into the next day.
On this note, last weekend was Grace's BFF's, the lovely Miss K, birthday! We were with her family for the day and had a wonderful time. They are a large extended family and we never fail to have a great time with them.
This little darlin' is Miss K's doxie, Amber. Here she is, safe in Grandma's arms. Amber and her "Grandma Miss K blowing out the candles. High School Musical 3!!! Whoo Hoo! How exciting is THAT? Well, Miss K is excited as you can tell!
Best Friends Forever...Miss K and our Gracie. Grace got Miss K this shirt as part of her gift. Grace got hers and wore it under the jacket. When K opened her package, Grace revealed her matching attire! They each wore the short to school on Monday.
The shirts say, "Friends Make Life Sweeter."
How dear is that? Go on...say Ahhhh...you KNOW you want to.

On Sunday, after church, we had a nice lunch and then decided to head for Columbus. We wanted to see the Norman Rockwell in 3D exhibit at the Ohio Historical Museum. It was a great deal of fun for everyone and quite a crowd of people were there. There were representations of his Saturday Evening Post covers in sculpture and in human form! Lovely music played and the human entertainers were such a hoot to speak to. Just a nice thing to do on a cold and windy March day.
We left the museum and drove over to the campus of The Ohio State University. My Mom graduated from the school in the 40's and has such a deep love for the campus. It was far too chilly to walk so we just buzzed here and there, stopping every now and then so Mom could share a story or two with Grace about college life in the 1940s.
This was the amazing sunset that greeted us as we rounded the curve to our house...how glorious is that? The sky seemed to be ablaze...
I will try to be a better poster/visitor as the weeks go on but please know that none of you are ever far from my thoughts, prayers and heart. I am blessed to have your support, your friendship, your inspiration and ideas. My life is better because of you. Thank you all so much for that.
Love and Hugs,
Susie Q

Such sweet shirts for Grace and her friend! And what a cute idea to keep Grace's under her zipped jacket until her friend opened her package. Little amber is so cute! I think I will intoduce Piper to my blogging friends later today.

I love it when you go on these little trips to places I have never been. And, of course, I adore the 3-generational thing going on. May Grace and Boo have wonderful birthdays!! My baby boy will be 41 on March 16th and is going to Italy and Greece to celebrate over spring break. Of course, being a high school teacher he is taking teenagers for their spring break trip with him. Brave soul, he is!!!! Enjoyed all of your post today. Sally

What great friends Grace and Miss K are! Tell Grace Happy Birthay!!

The Rockwell 3D exhibit looked wonderful. That must have been a great day.

It is hard to keep up with real life and blog life at the same time....don't worry about it. Stop in when you can, and we you can't I will know you are thinking of me.
Hugs,
Penny

Lovely post, but then anything with sweet little girls always touches me! Grace and Miss K look very happy -- those friendships forged in childhood are very precious.

I'd love to hear your Mom's stories about college life in the 40s! Cool.

Best friends are so wonderful and they do look so cute together. Great shirts too!! Your tours were really cool. The museum and university. Since spring is around the corner I think there will be a lot of us who get a little lost from blogging. Very understandable!!

Happy birthday in advance to Gracie and to Boo! It looked like her friend K had a wonderful party and Gracie's gifts were very sweet.

I love Norman Rockwell so I would have loved to see that nice 3D exhibit.

Ohio State looks beautiful and that was a gorgeous sunset.

Guess what? I heard Brian Dennehy will be in a new play, "Desire Under The Elms," on Broadway this spring!

Well Bully is growling at me...says I missed something somewhere if I didn't vote for Kipper. If it's not too late send me the details and I too will vote for your sweet guy.

Happy Birthday to Grace, Boo and Grace's BFF. Love the shirts...very nice.

The Norman Rockwell exhibit looks amazing...almost as good as those Rikes Christmas windows you post. I always loved his wonder illustrations and magazine covers and know I would enjoy this exhibit as well.

Have a wonderful day dear Sue. Hugs, Andi
