Summer Re-Runs

I am re-running a post from 2007 today. Why? Because, gosh darn it, I felt like it. *grin*. But the real reason is that my daughter came down the stairs singing this tune...where she heard it she has no idea. But heard it she did and sing it she did. You will find the old post here:
It has been raining a lot for the past 3 days and the clouds are once again forming in anticipation of a late afternoon thunder storm. But there is always something to smile about. Always. Even when those *gray clouds* are metaphorical and not physical.
I dedicate this post to my friend Andi (who I speak of in this 2007 post) and her son Chase. I love them and wish I could see them more. Andi's mother has been ill for quite awhile and I wish I could do something more for them...something more than pray or send good thoughts...it doesn't seem like enough. I hope she knows how much I care...
One of the things that always makes ME smile is having all of YOU visiting Rabbit Run Cottage. I don't deserve you, I have been a neglectful blogger once again, but each one of you is appreciated and loved.
I hope YOU find something to smile about today...and let that old rain fall.
Love and Hugs,
Susie Q

April Showers...2 Days Early

And the home owner's motto? Never give up, never give in...to
naughty leprechaun shenanigans that is!
A few new stones, 3 new faces and something to keep those April showers
at bay...
The story of this spunky homeowner will be in Thursday's edition of the Dayton Daily News accompanied by pictures taken by one Susie Q from Rabbit Run Cottage!
The rain fell for three days. Perfect weather, if you're a robin lookinng for worms. The ducks and geese were everywhere, in pairs,
happily splashing in puddles and protecting their nests from evil
intruders. Evil beings like me...
HONK! Stay away from my nest you human you! HONK!
This goose was doing one of the best weather vane impressions
I have ever seen! Here he is doing an inimitable WNW!

Just One Little Thing...

I accomplished just one little thing today...I finally finished my Autumn door basket arrangement! I would have loved to add some pheasant feathers as well but we get so much wind and that wind drives what rain we do get onto the door. So, feathers do not last well. Now, can anyone explain that to me? Don't pheasants get wet in the wild? Hmm...maybe they all have little yellow slickers to wear when it rains. I do hope you will all approve of the basket. I hope you all know how much I respect all the artists, decorators and creative people that drop by here. Your opinions mean so much to me! Oh, and I did see 3:10 To Yuma...a pretty spiffy shoot 'em up of a Western. Bale and Crowe make a great on screen duo and manage to look pretty good too. Okay, well, that is just me but then...they are no Brian Dennehy but hey. Who is? I hope you are all well and enjoying a lovely weekend. And it DID rain! A veritable cloudburst! Whoopie! I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain...what a glorious feeling I'm happy again...
Hugs,
Susie Q

Ahem...A List. Yes. A List.

It has been brought to my attention that a week has passed since I posted a list of any kind! This must be some sort of a record for me. I found this one on our Gretchen's blog. I hope she will forgive me for my devious act of thievery. So, without further ado (and I still wish someone would tell me exactly how long an ado is or what an ado is)....a list. From me.
