The photo at the top was taken in my dining room. The others are from Bombay Company and Southern Accents magazine.
The greatest color stylist of all, Mother Nature herself, wrapped her skies and seas in beautiful blue so it is not difficult to see why so many of us are attracted to this tranquil color.
Pair your blues with a crisp white and watch it pop! It is a combination that never goes out of style. At once, bold and modern....then, on second glance, sweetly traditional. A bit old fashioned.
Just flip through a few decorating magazines. You will be hard pressed to find one that does not feature a home without some touches of blue and white.
Blue is wonderfully sociable! It happily mixes with any number of colors.
All shades of blue are complimentary! Azure, sapphire, navy, periwinkle, cerulean, indigo, cornflower....
It is easy to mix and match, in fact it is that very mixing that helps to create a designer look.

Wearing it and living in it, always looks smart. I particularly like the palest blue or aqua, it's so calming.

Anyway, why would we all want to resonate to the same color combinatinons, hu? Now that would be boring. :-)

I have a big cabinet full of various pieces of blue and white. I spy in the mirror of one photo, a matchstick blind and a blue and white toile curtain...yummy..?
Now I want to get rid of my window treatments and copy that..!!!
This combination of colour and pattern has always made my heart go pitter pat...sigh!

Blue and white is such a classic, I think it can add a touch of class to most decor schemes.
I love Holland and my hubby blessed me years back by entertaining my then 1 and 3 year olds in the parking lot of the Delft China Factory in Delft, Holland. I took an hour and a 1/2 to poke around and enjoy the serenity of the blue and white. I love doing quilts in that color, too.
My mom's favourite colour has always been blue and our homes were always decorated in blues. Such beautiful dishes in those pictures, I know my mom would fall in love with them! lol xox

I am a blue gal too, all shades, all hues. There is something so fresh and wonderful about blue either in wall color, accents in fabric, china etc. I love it mixed with a lovely green - I am very picky about WHICH shade of green. The sky and the ocean...what more perfect blues are there!
