Marching Into Spring...

The 3rd month of the year is here and that means Spring must be right around the corner. Here in our part of the world, the last of the grimy, sooty remnants of snow are almost gone. The sun peeps out more often and stays with us longer. The air seems so warm and breezes so soft and fresh. For now the gardens remain soggy, full of tangled brambles and broken branches. Ah but soon the world will burst forth with color and the lovely scents of the season. Uh huh, Spring is right around the corner. Ssh...can you hear it? It's coming, gently, on the wings of those sweetly chirping robins. Listen...

Peace Is Found In A Garden....

...or so I have heard. This is our little backyard garden. I have not done all I would like this Summer due to the heat and drought. Yet, things still bloom thanks to Grace's watering can and we did plant those things that were more tolerant of the harsher conditions. I sat for a long time in my backyard today. At the last moment, my brother just found that he could not go into the vet with my sis in law. I went in his place. It was Lisa and I who stayed with Haley as she left this Earth. We have lost several treasured furry friends but this was the first time I had actually stayed with a beloved pet at such a precious moment. I am both thankful and distraught. I know that the sadness will pass...for all of us. The bad memories will give way to all the sweet ones. I thank you for all your wonderfully understanding and insightful comments about Haley. Your words have helped...more than you can know. Thank you...so, so much. So I have posted a picture of our little garden and deck. Nothing grand mind you but it is mine and I love it. Next year we will have the house re-painted and do some more planting. But here it is, for what it is worth, for now. I neglected to put our flower boxes on the deck railings this year and I regret that. Still, many little bits and bobs flourish and give sanctuary to the chipmunks, rabbits, birds, butterflies, geckos and the neighbor's cats who seem to prefer our garden. Hmmm.....silly felines! I send my love to you all and a wish that your weekend is a peaceful one, a safe one, a sweet one.
Hugs,
