Emergency! Silliness!

Oh Johnny!

Have any of you ever actually been given Ringer's Lactate?

Would Ringer's have helped my poor aching heart? Oh was I ever in love with Johnny Gage! I grew up in fire houses. My Dad did this for a living. But I was so enamored with

Station 51, Johnny Gage and Squad 51, I was a very sad case.

Sad case...someone call for help. Rampart? This is Squad 51. We have a blond teenage girl who seems to have fainted. Rampart? Request permission to have Johnny give her mouth to mouth resuscitation. NO? Okay Rampart. Administering Ringer's lactate as ordered...

Hi Suzie Q-I have been a lurker for weeks and oh my goodness this post cracks me up. I was in love with Emergency too. In fact, I was in a pretty serious car accident at age 17 and even though I was hurt, I flirted terribly with the paramedics and the ER docs when I arrived. I remember asking them if they would come and visit me when I was in the hospital. I think it was the concussion.....

Too funny! I so remember this show...I wasn't personally in love, but I had some good friends that told me of their previous crushes with the Emergency guy! :)

Mostly, I remember the reruns of "1-Adam 12, 1 Adam 12..." ;)

LOL...does this bring back memories!?! I was in early elementary school, but I had such a crush on him....and on Dr Gannon ("Medical Center"?). I do believe that is why I work in health care now... ;)

When I was away at school, we would all sit around the common, watch Emergency (and some other shows) and pick 'em apart, medically speaking! Ah! So young and smug...still it was a good show. Did you know that Julie London was/is (is she still alive?) a FABULOUS singer??

Good morning dearest Sue:-) Yup, I'm finally here to catch up on your latest posts! Seems all I do lately is trying to catch up with everyone. lol Oooooh yes, I certainly do remember shows like Emergency and Medical Center...Dr. Joe Gannon was my big crush! hehe Chad Everett sure still looks yummy doesn't he!! You know what's sad, though? I actually also remember shows like Dr. Kildare (Richard Chamberlain) and Ben Casey (Vince Edwards). Now I really feel old...thanks a lot!!! lol

I've so enjoyed reading your last few posts and seeing all those wonderful pictures! You realize if I ever make it down to visit you, you'll have to bring me to allll those places you tell us about? hehe

My muscles are so sore this morning and all I've done so far in the computer room is pack up most everything and move it all to the spare bedroom. Also brought some of the furniture in there too. What am I going to feel like once I start painting?? lol Woe is me!

Take good care of yourself, dear heart!! xoxo

You know what it is, don't you Suz? It's that those shows make us that age again. When I'm watching a show I enjoyed as a teenager, I feel like a teenager again. Don't you think so?

Hi Suzie Q

Thanks for making me laugh outloud. One of my friend's sons is an EMT. I wonder if he gets any "interesting" calls....

Sue I don't remember this show, I would have watched it for sure.
I notice it began in 1972..My daughter was born in '71 and my son in '72, the 'lost' years for me as far as TV goes..!
Now, if you want to know anything about children's TV at that time..I'm your girl..!

OMG! How hysterical! I have to share your poem with a blonde friend of mine. We were both so in love with Randolph Mantooth.

I recently re-discovered "Emergency" on a local channel here in Florida. They run it on weekends. All of the old memories come back.

I now really do need to find out what Ringers Lactate is, and D5W? Was that the other stuff they always administered in the IV's?
