Taking the proverbial road less traveled
can often lead to sweet discoveries.
Like one lane covered bridges...
...and a lavender farm that was hosting a lovely Summer festival.
The farm's owners live in a fascinating home built into the land
and landscaped with a lavender peace symbol.
And how about another hidden gem? A farm where they breed
wallabies? This is baby Lucy and isn't she precious?
We found all sorts of lovely old barns...
...and an old cemetery.
Then finished our journey at this sweet, ramshackle antique shop.
We ended our day with the words of Robert Frost's poem in our
hearts...
"I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

I love that trading post! I was sad we couldn't go to the lavender festival this year
