Uh huh...that's me!
Well, me and perhaps my decor as well.
Am I the only living, breathing lady left in bloggy world
who still likes brass?
This is a photo of my entry way. I took this yesterday and yes. I still have a brass
light fixture and brass door accents. I love brass! Always have, still do!
Oh, and guess what? I still love oak! Yikes right?
I have had to come to the cold. hard fact that I am a teensy
out of step, out dated and just plain old but proud of it!
Now, am I the ONLY one left?
*listening for an echo*
Warmly,
Susie Q

You are certainly not the only one who loves brass or oak. While I don't have much brass I do love oak and have plenty of it. And who cares what everyone else is doing-do what you love!
No you aren't the only one left. I've noticed that people in certain parts of the country seem to have brass more...maybe in the northeast? Also, it's definitely coming back. I'm seeing it around more and more again so hold on to it proudly!
I love brass actually. And I have read around the blog world that it is making a huge comeback....so you are a trend setter :-)
Hugs,
Penny
p.s. have a wonderful Easter!
Afternoon Sue, Remember, all these decorating changes (for the most part)it's all about money! If the decorating big dogs don't change it up every few years, new tastes and styles won't sell! They must keep their jobs and keep things circulating! Us "common" folk couldn't afford to change all the time...too expensive!! Your home is beautiful!! LOVE the warmth and it is very inviting! I believe that is why so many ladies have turned to flea mkts and junking....they have CREATED their OWN STYLE for Cheap! So of course, when the BIG DOGS saw this...they jumped on the wagon and turned this into $$$. Be yourself..buy what YOU LOVE!! I hope to see you at the "OVER THE MOON" VINTAGE MARKET SHOW at Lawrenceburg Apr 5, 6!! I'll be there! Roxie
Oh gosh no, Sue--I love brass, copper, red brick, oak wood and lots of other things the young'uns think it a tad outdated. You know what? We've lived long enough enough tat style trends are just that--trends! What is in style one day will be out the next and the old becomes new and the new becomes the old.
I say go with what YOU love and the heck with trends!
Nope, you aren't out of step. I have brass and oak in my home. I have a brand new Pella black door with a lifetime solid brass door fixtures. And I love it! I also have a brass chandy in my foyer. I believe in doing what makes yourself happy not what is currently "in".
Nothing as classic as metals is ever outdated! And knowing your own mind and preferences is certainly a sign you're still young. You just keep your brass. Unless someone's gonna pay for a free home makeover, they'd have no right to say you are behind the times!
I decorate with dust and cat hair. sigh.
Love your entry way! Brass reigns supreme in our household. I love those brass candle chandeliers that are so out dated. (except in the White House, I might add). In time, we brass lovers will be discovered and sought after. (well, maybe "I" won't be sought after, but my old brass stuff might be.)
