And A Good Time Was Had By All...
Tonight was the Chinese New year celebration with the local chapter of FCC (Families of Chinese Children). It was held in the pretty ballroom of the Hope Hotel at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The room was a glow in candles and all dressed up in red, gold and black...
it was a special evening.
Well, let's see. Just what made it all so special? There were oodles of adorable children, a merry marching dragon, bunches of lovely children, heaps of delicious food, tons of terrific children, crafts and music, scads of cool children, dancing and singing and...oh yes! Many, many magnificent, glorious kids!
There was even a raffle of beautiful things and our Grace won a nice gift certificate
from a local handbag boutique! Who better to win such a prize than the diva herself? She was, in a word, thrilled!
And, did I mention all the sweet kids that were there?
What a fabulous and colorful celebration. Cute kids! But didn't I hear you say that.....
ReplyDeleteSo many adorable children...and such a pretty diva dressed in red!!! Looks like a wonderful event. Congratulations to Grace on winning a prize. You'll have to show us what she selects with her gift certificate.

Great photos! Thank you for sharing this event with us... I always do something in the classroom to celebrate Chinese New Year. We usually have oranges as a treat and I hand each child a red envelope with a homework coupon tucked inside. I used to tuck a dollar inside until I started teaching 600+ kids a week :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful affair...and how lovely Grace is. I was just going to ask (asked in my mind) was there a dragon? And there he was...so happy that Gracie won a prize...and a purse...or bag...or pocketbook...by any other name is hers!

I love the Chinese celebrations, they are so very colourful! Loved seeing all the pictures, Grace is so beautiful and her smile always melts my heart:-) Every summer we have the Dragon Boat Races at one of our lakes and beforehand there's always a Chinese troupe of entertainers and their costumes and "dragons" are fabulous. xoxo
