The Early Tour Bird Catches The...What?

Yes, I am early in posting this sweet fun...the wonderful neighborhood tour is set to commence on Monday, September 17th. Now, I am the one who is seldom early for anything but let me explain... I will be watching my nephew for 5 days and doubt I will have too much computer time! This little guy is active and, for me, a chubby almost 51 year old, that activity is often a little tiring. Wait! A little?? Sue! Who are you trying to kid! I am usually flat out exhausted but I do love it. So, short story long...(when did I ever say anything quickly?), I wanted to hop on here and participate...early is better than late right? Kathleen, at The Open Window, is sponsoring a neighborhood tour. I found out all about it through our dear Pea. I signed on to participate with many other special bloggers. Um...not that *I* am a special blogger...I meant that *THEY* were special...okay. You know what I mean right? Just click on the links and fly away to all sorts of lovely neighborhoods. This is the original farmhouse on our subdivision's property. It sits along side the walking trail and small pond. There are usually quite a few Canadian Geese and Mallard ducks on the pond...it was very still the morning I took these photos. Perhaps they were sleeping in. This is our small backyard garden. Our homes are modeled after row houses with the garages behind. There are alleyways that run behind each street. Our gardens are long and narrow...some are a tiny bit larger than others. We have one of the smaller ones. This wonderful garden belongs to one of my dear neighbors. Another neighbor's garden. They have 2 of the sweetest Collies. And yet another garden,.. This is the view from our garden. The small city park is directly behind us and these houses are just beyond that. One of my favorite homes in our neighborhood... Another pretty one... This is the view as you turn onto our street. That is our home in the middle. Our little cottage, Rabbit Run. Yes, it is small. I actually take pride in the fact that our house is the smallest, least expensive home in the entire development. Okay, a silly thing to take pride in but hey...we kept the costs down low deliberately. We chose small deliberately. We have been doing things to upgrade a little at a time but we love our cozy home.
