Red, White And Blueberry

Ingredients

  • 1 8-ounce carton vanilla low-fat yogurt
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 of an 8-ounce container frozen light whipped dessert topping, thawed
  • 3 cups fresh raspberries and/or cut-up fresh strawberries
  • 3 cups fresh blueberries

Directions

1. In a large bowl, stir together yogurt and almond extract or vanilla. Fold in whipped topping.

2. To serve, in six 12-ounce glasses or dessert dishes, alternate layers of the berries with layers of the yogurt mixture. Makes 6 servings.

Make-Ahead Directions: Prepare parfaits as directed through Step 2. Cover and chill for up to 1 hour.

  4. Wow, that looks good. I gotta get me some blueberries and strawberries and cream this week! I especially love the idea of almond extra in the cream. It just gives things such a nice 'rich' flavor.

  15. Thanks for posting the exact recipe I needed to finish out my Family 4th! And...thinking about that yogurt/whipped topping mix...this might be really good with pineapple and marschino cherries :) Can't wait to give it a try...

  18. I always make a Red, White and Blue dessert on 4th of July. Trouble is, my husband can't eat whipped topping. So it has to be whipped cream.

    So I think, with all the Strawberries around... it will be simple ol' Strawberry Shortcake with some Blueberries on it. Home made biscuits... Real Heavy Whipped Cream... Whipped right before dessert and the grandkids can 'fight' over who gets the 2 beaters, for licking. :-)
